I run on my own, just to get a bit of exercise and move the blood around. I've got a fairly sedentary job so I need to do something.

Your post has motivated me to have a go at this Park Run thing. I suspect heat is not going to be a problem over here...

Last night it was really damn hot. No idea that actual temp but butt nekkid, no sheet, ceiling fan on - still HOT.

Looks like we might hit 40 in the next few days...

I normally sleep with pajama type bottoms, socks and a T-Shirt, under a thick quilt pulled up over me even on our hottest Summer days.

Wife has the aircon running 24/7 and it's like a f#ckin' deep freeze in our house.
I swear I'd be warmer at the North Pole.

The times are going the right way, but I'm struggling to do it.

Last year on Xmas Day I ran a 32:52
Xmas day is normally bloody warm so I'm not sure i'll beat it this year.

Just ran a 30:54 Park Run.

Its was 30 degrees C and again I struggled.

My best time this year, but still a way off my personal best at the same event.

As I mentioned before, I had a long break from Park Run's for most of this year. Took me ages to get over pneumonia and influenza etc.

Since giving it another go, my times have gone....

34:55....... 33:19...... 32:19...... 31:55...... 31:42....... 30:54..... 31:30...... 30:37.

It's certainly going in the right direction, but I'm really struggling to get near the 27 minute times I was running last year.

To be fair my sensible diet and mid week runs are pretty much non existent recently so I'm guessing that might help. 

It's strange. I'm not very good at running and I struggle with the 5k but I do find something enjoyable about it. Not sure if it's the social element or me liking numbers and chasing times.

3rd Park Run this year.

I ran a 32:56.

Fark I was hot and struggling towards the end.

Good on ya mate, if you enjoy doing it, keep on doing it - if the enjoyment stops, pull the pin.

Sure are white legs for an Aussie resident though!    I'd of thought there would be more sun over there that?
