Does anyone know how to disconnect the alarm?

gsxbarmy

Welcome to the org, a bit more of an introduction from you would have been useful - thanks.

To answer your question, alarms - assuming you have a Meta or Datatool alarm - would have to be removed by an auto electrician / alarm specialist. They are installed such that typically owners cannot remove them for obvious reasons (such as the bike being stolen and then the alarm removed).

So - find someone who installs them - as they can also de-install.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I know someone who takes them off your bike but haven't got a clue where you are ,??

Sorry I did not realise about the introduction.

I have just purchased my 2nd gsx1400 and I am based in Preston

Thanks

To all things 1402

One of the biggest things to cause electrical faults on modern bikes is the alarms fitted to them .
Find someone to remove it asap and buy a big lock and chain .

What is wrong with the alarm, if it works why not leave it in place?
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Pre-emptive work will stop electrical problems before they happen .
I have a friend who does. Motorcycle rewiring and other work he spends a lot of his time removing alarms on jobs from sererval different bike shops in his area .
Most alarms (even "factory fitted") are after market ones and go wrong sooner or later .
Get rid asap if say .

One thing I like about the 14 - lots of under seat storage to lug a big chain around with you.

I think of it as ballast.

KiwiCol

My ballast is on top of the seat . . .   130Kg of it!   Poor bike doesn't need any more stowed under it as well.
