Hi all

I've recently picked up a k6 and starting to go over it.

Right up I've noticed the battery is free floating in the well - could anyone grab a picture of the factory tie down for me or any details if you have had to diy one.

Thankyou

Hi 🙋 Barbz, the battery is free floating as std. Never heard of an issue with it. All good.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

It's well hemmed in. Unless the "luggage box" (yep, that's what they call it  :rofl2: ) part' 92211-42F01 is missing.

As already said the battery isn't tied in .the space it fits holds it very well and the box/cover gits above as in Andrew's picture .
The only thing under the seat that is tied in is the tool kit at the back of the storage space .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Thankyou,

Easy then.

Would you happen to know the factory battery size/model?

The one that's in this bike isn't full size/doesn't full the space.

Thankyou.

It's a yuasa YTX14-bs, if you can get hold of a YTX14H-bs that's even better, 240cca.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I have hvt 8 superstart. Rated at 300cca. Mine tests at 350. Amazing how good.

Has the previous owner fitted a lithium ion replacement battery. Quite often they are smaller than the standard battery. If the battery feels a lot lighter then a normal lead acid battery then this is probably what has been done.
