Do remember that price will vary by postcode - so Central London (say) would be significantly more expensive than the middle of the countryside.

Also you do need to compare what excess and benefits you get to get a true view

I've got both my bikes (GSX1400, slightly modified. Bandit 1200, very modified) with Carole Nash.

The Bandit is on agreed valuation, so a pre agreed amount gets paid out if it gets written off or stolen. The GSX is just on the policy along with the Bandit.
I pay just over £300 a year for comprehensive cover with protected no claims. This includes breakdown cover.

I have to say that Carole Nash are NOT a good company to deal with. Their staff don't seem to be very clued up about the products they are selling. Every year at renewal time it's a minimum 45 minute phone call to try and get it sorted out :furious:
If they promise to call you back...They don't. I've also been sent other peoples policies in the past along with my own.

Having said all that, I still stick with them.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

I have all four bikes and my car with Carole Nash on two policies, 250 excess on everything, breakdown recovery and protected NCD for around £400 but it up for renewal next month so I will go with the best deal then.

I'm with Carole Nash and concur with everything Froudy says, but I still renewed with them. However I do look around each year as if I could move I would, but personally wouldn't touch MCE or Bennetts, eBike I like but is a tad more expensive.

But now I have a standard motorcycle rather than a bling bucket, I might get some decent prices. We'll see, mines not up until September anyway.

this year ive move from Swinton ins,to bennets,i paid £304 fully comp,£250 excess protected no claims.that was for 2 gsx 1400s,1sv1000 and 1 triumph tt600,,,,4 bikes in all so I thought that wasn't too bad.now since ive replaced the sv with a gsr 600 rang them up to change the details over they want another £32 from me to cover .now I thought they might not be any more fees to pay due to the type of bike the gsr is,but I was told by the advisor,to pay it or lump it type of thing..so in the end I pay the extra 32 pounds but politely mention that I will not be using bennets  next time its due {10 months still to run} then the advisor says" suit yourself really not bothered"oh and ive asked for paperwork to be sent out for policys twice now but still never received any, they only e mail docs even though twice they've agreed to send paper doc,s,,,,so any way I will be shopping around next year, even if I have to pay more, I wont be using bennets....suppose it could have been wrong week for the young lady I last spoke to eh....

Gaz1978

So this year I'm with bennetts £85 fully comp. I'm 38 with 6yrs ncd, the bikes garaged and i live in Thirsk......hardly the crime capital of Britain  :whistling:

I've also been with Swinton and MCE, but usually swap each year due to companies giving a better quote on renewal time. Although I can't see there being a huge savings on an £85 premium anyway next time.

Most sales staff are targeted on bringing in new customers so will usually give a better price to a new customer than one just renewing.  A number of times I have had a renewal notice and then gone on line and got a better quote from the same company s just let it run out and get a new cheaper quote the next day, nuts.

I absolutely hate renewal time its a total pain in the ass and you have to put up with emails an calls - so wish I ha one bike would be so much easier

This is not UK, I know, but I pay £104/year.

IanH

I had to start a new policy over here when I bought the 14 so no discount applied.

I pay the equivalent of £65 for 3rd party for a year.

Speedy1959

I am with Hastings direct..
1 year NCB and £250 Excess.
Premium is £240 per year (Fully Comp)

We're meant to buy insurance? next you'll tell me we need to pass a test as well....

Just had my renewal from  Carole Nash, actually gone down £20 from last year, £155 comprehensive, 5 years NCD, 53 years old, (me, not the bike lol),  including all mods, exhaust,  cams, power commander, paintwork, quick shifter, wheels, upgraded brakes and suspension plus a few others. Shopped around but nobody can get anywhere near that price. Bennetts wouldn't touch it, quoted nearly that for a standard bike. Tried a couple of companies that allegedly specialise in modified bikes and even they were way off the mark.
