Mr FF - I totally agree with what you are saying my point is that Im more likely to make an error doing all the manures (12 in total) to pass the middle lane hog when Im doing the speed limit braking no laws where as some arse sausage can blatantly ignore the law and more than likely get away with it

the issue is that in the UK drivers are not taught how to drive on the motorways and there fore are unsure how the inside lane works - they see the signs advising what the next exit is and they are terrified that if they sit in the inside lane they will come off the motorway and then the real fear will begin trying to get back onto  the motorway - I know that they have just introduced training now but I feel that there should at least 2 lessons post test to understand how to use the big scary roads

Lane hoggers in my opinion cause delays and tail backs due to their utter incompetence

Sorry but I don't believe that to be the reason. It's no different to dual carriageway in that respect & they get it wrong there too, I see a lot of driving instructors getting it wrong too so that's why the public are crap at it.

Fishy l note you say "there aren't any Police on the roads" So where have yours gone ?

Good question. They're certainly not going round chasing stolen bikes, as we have already established more than once on this forum.

Seriously though there has been a reduction in police numbers over the last 10 years or so. Here are the stats:

https://fullfact.org/crime/police-numbers/

It's just my opinion, but it seems like a lot of road policing has been offloaded to automated systems. Speed cameras, average speed checks, smart motorways and all that. I would be very surprised if there has been a single prosecution for middle lane hogging since the "crackdown" was announced.

Looks like we heading that way too Fishy. Delivered under the guise of road safety. You wouldnt want to be a cop here.
They are like fishermen with the scum........too much Tag & Release and not enough Gaff and throw on Ice!!
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

If I'm doing 70 in the inside lane and come up to a car in the middle lane doing 60 I just keep going and pass him/her, as I am doing the correct speed and did not manoeuvre to pass I don't consider it an undertake.  I am going out on an advanced ride this weekend so will ask the instructor.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Sounds correct to me too.

Now, if you move out to overtake a truck & then move back in as you should, continue up the road past an idiot in the middle lane & pull out later for another truck. Did you move left to overtake it or not?
