:rofl2: :rofl2:

Field of view on the Nolan's is exceptional.... I have a N104.... best of both worlds (albeit a bit heavy)... simply flip up for a smoke Andre!

Hooli

I've not worn a full face for years, horrid things. I find they distort the location of noise & that's distracting to me.

Me and the missus were out in car the other day. Approaching a 'T' junction. Cue wrecked bike and 12 wheeler wagon...

Missus brush being an ex nurse offered her help to the injured biker. Gratefully received. Until paramedic arrived. He was fine but just badly shock up. Bike a right mess./write off.  12 wheeler had cut the corner of the junction by about 20 feet wiping him out. He jumped clear when he saw what was going to happen.

Full leathers - not a mark on him. All I got on way home from missus - if I see you put on your jeans one more time. You are gonna get both barrels from me from now on... Point taken.

Biker is fine. We took him home. First accident since he started biking at 16. And he was a month short of his 70th birthday.

Well done to Mrs Brush - Nurses never stop being nurses, my wife is exactly the same

Well done to you for assisting and dropping the fella off after ward - this is what biking is about helping out and what I refer to a brotherhood - its getting rarer and rarer these days

Glad the biker was okay and had the sense to bail out when he did

Nurses are exeptional people. Well done Mrs Brush.
Pleased the fella was ok.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Bloke was fine. But awfully shock up. He was stopped 20 feet from the line waiting to turn right. Very few people do this manoeuvre. Wagon coming from his left. Biker saw what was gonna happen. He had the foresight to bail to the left. Wagon sliced the corner taking bike with him. It would have killed him otherwise.

Bike totalled. Lad was just sat on the kerb. Trucker was more concerned with the damage to his wagon. Never asked how he was. When all done. Me and police picked bike up. Dear me those BMW adventure bikes weigh something. Figure of eight front wheel did not help matters...

54 years on bike. First accident. He gonna keep in touch. I hope he gets another bike.

And whilst I got also roped into traffic management by plod. I'm not gonna mention gender or age. Two drivers collided with the kerb rubbernecking...

Leathers for me from now on.

I would rather be all sweaty than scraped up... seen too many of my buddies with road rash just cos they wouldn't wear the right gear!  My days of just wearing jeans on a bike are long gone  :onya:

I do wear demins very occasionally but always leather jacket, short boots, gloves and obviously lid and I know that I am a lot more aware of my surroundings and speeds . . . . . . . . just in case

Mister Fishfinger

I wear either leather or textile jackets with armour, plus textile or denim trousers (but if denim, the type with Kevlar lining). I'm not sure how good the Kevlar would be in a slide but it's supposed to be reasonable. Like others have said, sometimes you have to compromise when it's this hot.

I never wear open face helmets though. My dad had a big smash back in the 1960s and to cut a long story short he hit a lamp post with his face. Had full face lids been available back then he would have been OK, but instead he spent months in hospital having his face rebuilt. When it gets really hot I am tempted sometimes, but I take my dad's experience as a lesson.

The Nolan N87 gets my vote as well - the field of view is amazingly wide. I certainly can't notice the sides. Comfortable, not too expensive, well made, comes with a Pinlock. What's not to like?

Andre

I got a pair of denim jeans (Highway 1 at Louis) that was recommended by the largest German MC magazine this year. They tested 20 jeans. The one I got, looked like new after the testing. The Kevlar lining didn't even have to show what it can. Cost me 60 €. Too bad they didn't test denim against leather.

Now looking for a leather jacket, the last piece to replace my textile combo. Then I am ready for the fashion show.

Never dropped on the pavement with a motorcycle. Different story with bicycle. Got roadrash several times as well as a torn ligament and a cracked helmet. Oh, and a case of blood poisoning when I fell mountain biking in a Californian desert. Was lucky to stay on the trail though, instead of going over the 15 meter cliff. Maybe I should wear full leather protection when cycling? NOPE!

KiwiCol

Answer to that Andre is to stop cycling, just ride the GSX.

Haha, haven't ridden a bicycle since I got the 14 last year in spring :boogie:

A week ago I visited a place where I took a break at a place I cycled a few years ago. Nice shade from the 1000+ year old oak tree.

KiwiCol

I love stuff like that!   1000 year old tree!  Just amazing, the things that have happened all the while this tree has been growing.

Your bike looks splendid too Andre.
