This really boils my p155 - there was a law introduced in 2015 and I've yet to see or hear of anyone getting done on the roads I use - Im not going to bleat on about car drivers seeing someone on a bike - I take a lot of pride in my lane control and almost never undertake so it takes a lot of mirror signal maneuvers to go from the inside to the middle to the outside to the middle back to the inside all to overtake some dumb fu**er that has no idea how to use a motorway

Was on the way home on Tuesday and there was an new driver (had the greenP plate) sitting in the middle lane of a motorway doing 45 mph - ridiculous!!!  this driver has taken a test and is now allowed to do 70 mph with no training (I know its included now)  - so what do I do continue in my lane and undertake as not breaking any speed limits or make 12 maneuvers to get around them.

needs to be better policed and have people made more aware of the correct use of a motorway

Have I said this Pi55es me off no end

The big problem is there aren't many police about these days and they rely on cameras to do most of the work  :frustrated:

If some knobber is doing 45 in the middle lane it's okay to "undertake" them as your lane is moving faster than theirs.  They are a pain though  :furious:

Correct, as long as you're not seen to move left to get past them.

I know it is legal to undertake in this sort of situation but its hard enough getting seen on the roads(there I did it) when in the correct lane all it needs is for him to decide to get into the correct lane and not look correctly as we all know inexperienced drivers they can do the strangest things, so on this instance I decided to go the long way around

And while Im on my soap box about this - what is it with middle lane hoggers who sit in teh middle lane for effing miles then move into inside lane for their exit - they really get on my goat

soap box away . . . . . . . . . . maybe

There are 2 pages to the emojies you have a soap box
On a serious note I've been driving around 1250 miles a week with work for the last 15ish years and the standard or general driving is much worse then it used to be mobile devices have heightened things but as a nation things are deffinatly worse than they ever were.

My mate is a traffic cop - 10 years ago there were 32 high speed pursuit vehicles monitoring roads in the Cardiff area including motorways - now there are 6 . No cameras then no offences !  drive in the middle lane no problem - actually more ex police driving Driving Agency breakdown vehicles than police :furious:

A slight variation on the theme of middle laners - the person who knows they need to turn right, so gets into the outside lane of a 2-lane road well in advance.

Like 3 miles in advance.

So if I want to go faster than them I have to sit there waiting for their turning, or take a risk and go past on the inside. There's a short stretch of 2-lane road on my regular route to work and it happens pretty much every day. I could understand it in heavy traffic, but if the road is flowing freely there's no need to get over so soon.

While I'm at it, have a few more:

- The driver that does 7mph less than every posted limit. 23 in a 30, 33 in a 40 and so on.

- The careful driver who sticks to 30mph in a built-up area (no problem with that) but doesn't read any signs so doesn't notice when it changes to 40. Presumably he never notices the long crocodile of cars building up behind him either.

- The person on the inside lane of a 2-lane roundabout who is going straight on, so they make a straight line out of it. Which cuts you off completely if you are trying to turn right. I was in Hungary recently and I noticed they had some vicious looking concrete lane dividers on their roundabouts that would certainly put a stop to that kind of shit.

- People who don't indicate. Just give us a clue where you are going, that's all I'm asking. It only takes one tiny movement of a finger or thumb to put an indicator on.

Ah, I feel much better now.

There are plenty of drivers that have never had an accident  it have been very lucky because they've seen loads in thier mirrors.

It's simple here.

If your in the left hand lane, your either entering the motorway, leaving the motorway or your from Asia.

If your in the right hand lane your obviously speeding.

That only leaves the middle lane, so it must be the right place !

sounds like you've been in Christchurch Fishy, exactly the same here! To add to that, I also get peeved at huge truck & trailer units (B Trains & the like) taking both lanes of a major expressway through town, crawling along side by side & holding up all the commuters trying to get to work.  :furious: Just get in behind each other & let the rest of us pass, ya ignorant a$$holes!

I agree as an ex truck driver ( timber wagon and drag ) ive done thousands of miles all over the country during the 90's and early 2000's and i can say that the standard of driving in this country including truck drivers has realy gone down hill , but then again the bloody traffic has gone throught the roof since then and i think thats not helping !
i intend to live for ever or die trying !!

I'm an ex coach driver & think the same.

Trouble is when enough people can't drive it becomes impossible to drive properly, if you move left when you should some retard will pull alongside you, sit there & block you in etc. That's before you even mention the mongs who pull straight out of sliplanes without trying to merge.
