HP filter clean and re seal

Obviously HP filter can be opened.
How much trouble to reseal.
Was wondering if a combination of glue/sealant AND a stainless clamp over top to bottom would work?
Don't be too hard on me, just wondering!
Anyone ever tried a reseal?

Successfully re-seal? Highly doubtful although there might be a glue that's impervious to petrol but why try when it will only block up again. External filter Brendan.
