Trav Man

Looks and sounds good mate  :onya:
I'd love a set of std twins but just can't find them here in OZ but I do have the twin conversion just with Delkevik slip ons.
I've learnt so much from my mistakes that I'm thinking of making some more ;D

KiwiCol

Hi Trav Man, either Sweaty or Snapey have a couple of sets of twin exhausts I seem to remember. Might be worth asking . . .
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

You mean these Col ... not for sale though.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Nice mod Jacog,
I picked up a pair of standard twin pipes because I liked the look but I was surprised at how heavy they were compared to aftermarkets, do you have any idea how much weight you threw away?

Cheers,
Rick

I love the standard exhaust on my K5. Any minor gain on weight ? I'm thinking of doing the same; buying another one case anything goes wrong. Especially since here in my country the cops are checking how the bikes are. When they're not stock its a pain. `Cause of the new to be roadworthy tests for bikes. Everybody's being pulled over. Lights, exhausts, top cases, ...

Andre

Lots of strictness here too. As long as exhausts (and lights) have an E-number, the cops are happy - as long as they don't notice that your exhaust can has been manipulated!!! I know (have been told, read) that some other countries (Italy, Switzerland) require a paper to go with the number (exhaust). Anything not having an E-number and is not stock, you have to have a paper (general operating permit) where your bike is listed or it has to be entered into the bike's papers.

Yep, basically same here. Its Europe, by the way.

Snapey

The stock 1400 mufflers don't look too bad on a Katana either.

They look like they were made for the Katana :onya:

Depends on how European law is put into national law and enforced. My impression is that there is more leniency in GB, at least in regards to exhaust cans.  ??

I think there are some things where Europe standardised the rules for manufacturers - Euro4 pollution and noise limits are good examples - but the rules for individual vehicles and their owners are widely different in each country. It would be a lot harder to normalise these rules because they have been in place a long time and people would be very resistant to those changes.

A lot of people complain about UK rules and regulations but they are actually quite sensible compared to some other countries.

A few years ago the police would be out on a Sunday pulling bikes in and checking their number plates (with a ruler), exhaust, tyres and the riders visor and issuing a complementary voucher to pay money into the police Christmas party fund.  Now as long as you ride sensibly they tend to leave us alone ignoring iridium visors, loud pipes and small number plates (probably too much paperwork for not much gain), if you ride like a tit they will do you for that and add in the exhaust, plates and visors for good measure.

I dont ride like a Tit Occifer!!

Was once pulled up when I was just 18yrs old whilst playing out on the bikes with my mate (who I still ride with).
The copper asks my mate his name....
"Norton" says my mate..
The copper says to his fellow officer still sat in the car "Bill.. We have a Norton on a Suzuki"..
He then says to me "And who are you"?

"Speed " I replied (yes really)..
He said "Bill, we have a bloody idiot here"..

My surname used to get me off many times..
