Thanks Blubber.
I checked.. The chain and sprockets are 1450 miles old !!

I always had a feeling about the chain..
Yes it came in an apparent DID box but then the Chinese are good at copying !

Wouldnt mind but it wasnt even cheap !!
£105 for the chain !

Speedy - I recently changed my chain and sprockets... had a look at mine today.  The chain has DID stamped on some of the link plates...

Unfortunately I no longer have the box so I cant confirm the serial number.
I wonder if its possible to send my old chain to them for analysis ?

Andre

Contact them! They should be interested to find out who sells fakes of their products. If it is their product, they should have an interest to see why it failed so miserably.

Yeah, the fact that the link needs to even exists is a bit sad.

I know there were a lot of fake named-brand spark plugs on Ebay a year or two back.

Hi Grog
I suspect the link was posted by me!!
I think you are doing right mate.. Stick with the devil you know (and trust).

Speedy1959

Nice one Mr Fruit..
My sprockets are only 1450 miles old so I will leave them be..
Will have the chain replaced on Wednesday at the dealership.

Have ordered another sprocket carrier bearing (Koyo) just in case

That rear sprocket Col, there's a 'right' way to mount it because it's not the same both ways.  The number 41 goes to the outside face (I believe) else you won't have the 2 sprockets lining up proper.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Gold side links Col, black through the centre. Looks good. Rear sprocket goes flat side to hub. Engine sprocket is just steel, no rubber cushion on the sides. Chain is on, rivets peined lightly over. Will ride gently to the bike shop and they are going to finish peining the rivets over with a chain tool.
Weather is junk at the moment but looking forward to having a ride with the new drive line.
The original chain is an RK and the joining link is sloppy in the new chain, so the DID chain has bigger pins.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
