Hi All, I recently aquired a nicely priced set of new St1s. But after receiving them in I see it says K1 to K5 on the box. This could be a problem as I have the last year model.
My Question is: can i fit these to my 2007 bike??

Cheers

Max

Maybe you should head over to the bar and introduce yourself you'll find everyone much more friendly
Yoshi st1 cams fit all years but you'll need to remap using a power commander and with a akroprovic full system will look at around 135bhp.

As Seth says they will fit all years including the 2007 K7 model that you have - but you will need to remap with a Power Commander and to get full benefit fit an Akra or Yoshi Cyclone
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Hi MAWO.

Cams are a great addition to a 14.

What spec is yours currently at?  As others have said, the bike really needs a full system like a Akro or Cyclone, PAIR blanks, a PC3/5 and some dyno time to benefit fully from cams IMO.

There is also a thread on fitting the cams here if you look as you need to modify 1 of the can clamps and re-shim the valves.

Thanks for the info. Glad I didnt waste my dosh!
Got a full Akro system so gonna start looking for a PC. I had the bike on the dyno a 10k back and it was 132hp. As far as I know it has not been messed with. I fitted the exhaust and a K&N but thats it. Had it since 2009 and it had 14k then. Now it just over 60k (kms)

because PC3 is discontinued, Dynojet issue PCV fo GSX1400 (20-056)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynojet-Power-Commander-PC5-PCV-PC-5-V-Suzuki-GSX1400-GSX-1400-2002-2007/401501344468?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

You also may use PCV for 1250 bandit (20-010), if you get it cheaper, but if I didn't have one, I would go for 20-056.

Blubber

132 bhp with just an akra system isn't a result I would expect.

As a reference... Mine has just an akra it has 120 ish bhp.

Maybe your engine has been worked on...like a Hoegee tune.

( PS... Waar heb jij de nokkenassen vandaan?.. Bedankt!)

I'm not sure how they are measuring the bhp on that dyno but I've never seen a gsx1400 without updated cams get more than 120bhp
Normally the pipe and a power commander remap you get around 116bhp
You'll notice a big jump in power and how the big goes after fitting the cams.
Good luck with it all.

I'm with @seth with measuring differences.
To be honest, I do not understand when people talk about dyno runs, what kind of bhp they talk - on rear wheel or "corrected" by transmission losses engine power. Also dynojet software have 6 or 7 different build in corrections which corrects values depending of air pressure and temperature and e.t.c. The only more or less reliable numbers are numbers comparing to you own runs before and after some changes were made :)

seth

My bike has dyno'd at 135/136bhp on the same dyno but got 140.2bhp on a dyno at a show in denmark .
On the same dyno in Denmark my friends 1250 bandit got 106 and they get 98 on any other dyno
The only way to compare nip readings is to run the bikes on the same dyno at the same time.

It's more about getting the fueling right than big bhp numbers.

Theres a Suzuki race specialist not too far away. Hoegee Suzuki. I was planning on chatting with them before I fit the cams. So maybe I will get it on the dyno before. And then take it back to set it up once the cams are fitted. That should give me an idea of where I am.
What do you think as far as PCs are concerned, new or take a chance on a second hand jobbie?
