Not yet the worst case is the beds can be pushed together but I'm going to visit the hotel before we go and hopefully they can make the rooms for couples into doubles .

I'm near Cambridge and will be leaving at Sparrow Fart and can meet up en route.

There will be mandatory stop for tea n bacon... n sausage etc etc.

BRILLIANT.  I can meet you at the OK Diner.  I know it very well.   grew up near Newark and the OK is a stop for me every time I travel up North to visit family in Leeds so that's a defo Plan !

The snack bar in the layby 1/2 a mile up the A66 off the A1 is good, brick built one that's been there years. Not sure on it's opening hours though.
