I have two of #2, so wouldn't vote for anything else.

Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

ARH

I have no 1.... and thinking about changing it cos it's getting a bit tatty... I think that the front end  looks a bit too 'chrome ' with the cover and down pipes so would have liked something that had a black Center with chrome surround but seems nothing like that is available.

Not a fan of odd or large holes in the mesh or of solid area's to make logo's etc.
I'm sure folk will say they work fine but just looks wrong to me.

I normally use the Aussie "Radguard" brand. I like the chunky outers and the finer mesh they use and they come in alloy or black finish. Probably not the cheapest but I use them on my Busa and B-King.

The ones on "Ugly-Bus" (Radguard again) have had about 14 years abuse, 4 on my old Busa and 10 on this one. They look rough now but I very rarely clean them. They'd polish up OK with some Autosol but I might give them a coat of black paint if I ever get around to repainting the bike.

I think the one on mine is your #1 pic.
Fits OK, works OK. It came fitted on the bike.
No complaints but I'd buy a black mesh one as above if I was shopping but I won't be as I don't spend money on The Black Rat...  ;)

Tony I was just about to post that link but you beat me to it :)

I'm not a huge fan of those, but only because they look like a tack on rather than a nice integrated solution.

I currently have an old ORG one, the grille is quite similar to picture #1.
It's no good now though - I don't need to be advertising a link to   chocolate frog shop  :rofl3:

and GSX1400Owners.org is a bit long to fit on a rad guard unless it's too small to read. :D

Yeah, it's personal taste.
The Radguard ones are a bit crude, but well made and sturdy, I actually like the big blunt look, and I like supporting an Aussie company.

The more I look at the other options the more wrong they look to me.
I like finer mesh and less solid area's. Designed with function in mind.

Any of them is better than none, ask me how I know....

We have 3 on ours but it's down to personal choice ours were cheap .
Any is better than none as oil coolers aren't cheap

Yes, anything is better than none :onya:

As to personal taste. I don't like logos. Glad that PO had one fitted without.

I am ok with what I have but tend to agree with ARH that the front is a bit to "chrome". I like the idea of black center with chrome frame. Might DIY one by cutting out the center and fitting black expanded alu or wire mesh instead.

I am just too mean to buy a fancy one, picked up a peice of mesh from a local hardware shop this week for 11 Euro. Fitting it tomorrow.

Anyway, long and short of it I am a tight Arse, as well as a short Arse who has to have a lowered seat.  :happy1:
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

I've got 1, but would prefer it to be plain, without the GSX1400 text.
Don't like a lot of extra logos, names and makes, which seem popular with a lot of the add ons.
