First time to DIY change clutch fluid today (old one became very light brown in colour), it refresh the clutch operate A LOT !  :boogie2:
I think when spending money in filling good quality motor oil, it's also important to renew the clutch fluid !

I have changed that black, dirty clutch fluid every year.
Now I´m going to change those slave cylinder seals too, to prevent that black sludge.

Think this is the best topic to ask an advice...
Few months ago I put new clutch fluid, cleaned everything and put new master cylinder seal.  3000 km after that fluid is dark! Did the brake fluid same day and it's still clear as new.  Clutch is operating normally... :whatever:
I will change it again in next couple of days but I think that is too early to get dark colour.  I can read that you change it every year or two...looks like I'll have to do it twice a year!

Andre

When I changed it first (bought a year ago and upgraded to braided hose), the fluid was so bad that the inspection glass was dark. Couldn't get to it to clean. Few months later I changed the fluid again (new slave) and it was all clear now. I assume that the new fluid cleaned it. Can imagine that there was still a lot of crud in your system which has dissolved now into the fluid. Just change the fluid again and see how it goes.

I know one of my bikes has 10 year old clutch fluid, but I have another that's much MUCH older, maybe even as old as it's tyres!
