Hello and welcome
Sorry to hear your problems .
What year is your bike as the ignition switch and headlight wiring was changed for later k5 on models and there is a known issue with the immobaliser ariel on some k5 that were recalled by Suzuki.

have you tried looking at the wiring diagram to see you have reconnected every thing correctly .
Where do you live as others here might be closer to help you .

Hello Seth,

Hello Seth,
As far as I know have connected everything  - bike is a 2003  K3 - I live in Gloucestershire -am now going through the loom a bit at a time  ! - am convinced there is a short somewhere  ! Many Thanks  - George

Gidday, have you tried starting with the headlight disconnected & then connect up whilst running to see if it stops?  K3? You have to turn those headlights on don't you?  (I've got K6's & they're on when the key is on.)
If you do have to actually turn the headlight on to make it go, connect up whilst running, see if stops, no?  Then turn headlight on, if it stops then, you're closer to finding the issue.

Best of luck tracking it down.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Yes @KiwiCol up to k5 you could turn the lights off the things that were changed on the gsx1400 mostly took place on the k5 onwards.
Also the imobiliser added after k5.
Your advice on lights off lights on is sound and might just show the problem up.
Good luck @geogane
Hope you find the problem and can get out on the bike soon .
