Some of you will remember I joined the forum when I bought my 14 at the end of last year.

I had no room at home so a friend stored her for me. I rode her the 18 kms from seller to storage where she has stayed, my friend starting her up each weekend.

WELL SHE'S HOME!

A ride of 50 kms to home,  quick wash, and a list of "to do" being drawn up.

First thoughts: how do you tall people cope? I can just have two feet on the floor yet when riding, I feel slightly crouched?

The  torque. No, THE TORQUE! Yeah ha!

Balance, how sweet is that? I love it!!!

Just for reference, I have not rode for 5 years after spinal operation. Before that it was a "forward control" Harley, limited torque, absolute discomfort! (And SO f....ing slow)

Tonight I am THE happiest bunnie in France.
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

Well you do have a cut-down seat

I'm 6ft 4 and i fit just fine on my 14

lil4399

Do you reckon its cut down?

Damn, I was going to have it cut down for my short arse legs.

It might be lack of riding on my behalf, not used to the riding position with the Harley having forward controls.

Hi Lil,
Seat is defo cut down at front, if you look at standard the ridge to Pilly is much smaller.
You can also buy adjustable foot pegs of seat alone doesn't do it  :onya:

Nice bike by the way!
Many a Donkey has lost its hoof on the rocky road, don't be that Donkey!

Back to tall people.... I am 203cm (6'8" I think) and drive around with stock pegs but have added 3cm foam for a bit more leg room. No problem  :onya:

Cheers Red, I will look at the adjustable pegs if it is still "strange" after a couple of thousand kms which I will try and complete in the next few weeks ;)

How could one forget the story "Ran out of fuel while not riding" :happy1:

At 190 cm no crouching here. Standard seat, handlebar, pegs. I do need to get my seat re-done. No hurry as there are only a few pin-sized holes. The foam appears to have been a little depressed where the PO's arse was placed. Not as comfy as my previous 14's seat with my arse's imprint.

For a temporary solution: Don't remember who but someone here has made a cushion with a bag with its handles around the seat to keep it in place. Might also look at a sheep skin. If the wool is thick enough it may give you the adjustment you need.

P.S. Nice bike :onya: I am sure you will stay happiness will stay with you. Get the bike adjusted to your needs and likes and the happiness will be even greater. Great that you are ready to ride again. Enjoy life

Nice looking K6 Lil.  You'll get used to the sitting position.  I'm fairly long at 195cm (6'5" in old money) & I fit mine ok.  Would like the bars back a little further as I prefer the 'sit up n beg' position as opposed to laying over the tank.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

201 cm. Did the same thing, added 3 cm of foam plus lowered footpegs 2 cm. Still need more legroom :whatever:

201cm! & 203cm!   You two should get a photo standing beside Notty!     :happy1:     Might need an 18mm lens on that job though!    :whistling:

I am sure I will, it was not uncomfortable, just "different"

The Sun is warming the tarmac right now so a quick blast to warm the oil before a full service.
