as some members are discussing the compatibility between and HEL Oil cooler and different exhaust headers, my case is the HEL can fit with Yoshimura "FULL SYSTEM STAINLESS STRAIGHT CYCLONE", just the hoses is a bit longer than it need (I think).

and there are several other models which I don't know will it be just fit:

As I found the lower arm of the cooling fan had no place to attach to the Hel oil cooler, I decided to cut it off. So the fan is attach to the frame by 2 bolts now.
I also put the rubber cushions in different orders (some were cut into half the thickness), as trying to move the cooler a bit closer to the frame side (decrease the gap between the cooler and the fan).
I don't know is this the best arrangement or not but I am satisfy with the result.  :)

Installed the shorten Hel oil lines (this time in stainless braid for better heat resistant), now better fitment !  :onya:

I'm currently doing a HEL cooler on mine and have had to have lines made...

Looking at your photos - and please correct me if I'm wrong - but aren't the hoses supposed to be at the top and not underneath ?

My Hel cooler will be feeding in - out from the top

Are you buying the kit set with hoses ? I think they originally design to run the hoses at underneath (as the mounting bolt at upside).
However their kit set oil hoses are a bit too long, I measured the suitable length and found it was matching what @bigian14 suggested, please ref to:

Also I think stainless braid is a better choice as the Black (Nylon??) braid may melt when contact or very near to the hot head pipe.

ive just mailed the guy..  he said mine was a one off so the hoses feed in at the top - PHEW !!  thought I had it all wrong !

maybe they have updated/tailor made their design after discussed with some members in this forum ...?
(Also I have good experience with their after-sale service  :))

You actually can change the oil filter with out removing the headers. I've been taking the headers out as well but yesterday I got fed up - from the left hand side under the outmost header, there is just enough wiggleroom to get the filter out with full yoshi drain.

With aftermarket oil lines ?

I just tried again with a Yoshi Cyclone and stock factory oil lines and I can't see how ?

Oh yeah, true - I've got custom made oil lines based on the ones that came with HEL (they leaked here and there, and the oil line it self couldnt handle the heat, they just boiled and cracked). Yeah, not sure with the OEM lines as I cant even remember how they are fitted there :D

I may look at getting a line made up to fit a stock cooler.
Only really need the left hand one.
An aftermarket line with the Hel style fitting would be easy to undo and move to get the filter out.

@Tony Nitrous
I had lines on a standard cool and the cooler failed at the lower fittings on the cooler a known weak point on the bike ( in the middle of Hanover gernany).
I'd go for one of the standard looking after market coolers as they are much stronger than standard.

only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Tested today, can install the Amsoil EAOM109 filter and detach the K&N-138 filter without removing the header (with my oil line install way).  :onya:

Anyone know where/if you can get one of those hel type fittings? I have that daft problem where my original lines don't allow me to remove my filter. Did it today first time, had to drop off the centre support for the lines and disconnect the line from the clutch side of the cooler to get enough wiggle room. Ridiculous that a $four figure exhaust system stops you changing your oil.
