My mirror stems are badly pitted and rusty..
On my Previous Yamaha MT-01 I has some stainless steel stems made..
I am thinking of doing the same for Sophie (my bike)..

But before I do are there any DECENT bar end mirrors that you would recommend?
I am NOT interested in weird and wonderful shapes or fancy designs..
I am more interested in having a clear view of whats behind.
I quite like the idea of foldable ones..
But is the mechanism for folding robust enough to last?

If I decide to go for stainless stems then I will ask for them to be 1" (25mm longer).

Your thoughts please.

I noticed yesterday mine were also badly pitted and rusty ! these Oberon mirrors have bolts to fit the standard 14 bars  :smile2:

I like those Notty..
They look like the ones "Justbandits" are selling.
I like the way they seem to retain a bar end weight..

You need to watch though as the just bandit ones are like mine they slide in the ends of the bars ! were as the ones you need are the ones in Notty's pic which just have the bolt through and are flat on the end .
i intend to live for ever or die trying !!

Ah thanks for pointing that out..
I see on the Oberon website they do a better (for me) 75mm version..

Dam..
I was about to order these as they look perfect BUT..
They fit OVER to bar end and are intended for a 1" bar !

I know our thread size is 6mm before you point it out..

Just ordered a set from "Just Bandits"..
I spoke to a guy called Julian who was extremely helpful.
He told me how to slightly modify the bandit ones so they would fit the GSX.
He also pointed out that they are made in the UK which is a nice change..

I've got genuine Oberon bar end mirrors on my Bandit..Great quality, but rather expensive.

These Oberon copies on Ebay are just as good and a fraction of the cost. Just make sure to put a dab of threadlock on all the fixings though as they can vibrate out.

I've got these on my GSX1400 and they're good too...

agree Froudy. your 2nd link is what i use. have bought about 4 sets. 15 to 20 bucks. work perfectly. i use a bit of wd40 to stop rust. ive damaged two, hence extras. rear view is excellent, some have bought and found too wide for filtering. doesnt worry me. rather damage a 10 dollar mirror than a 70 to 80 as oberon are. cant see any advantage in expensive ones. one set had a distortion on glass, one side. they sent free set, told me to keep originals, brilliant service. much better than original deer antler mirrors.

Blubber

I too have the second set.
Bought them in black but after 2 years they have turned bronze..goldish. Glass is still bright  :onya:

I've mounted mine above the bars and turned inwards so that they don't cause problems when filtering..Rear view is still good :onya:

Now I like those Froudy...
I ended up removing the Oberon ones because they were way too small for me! I needed Opera glasses to see the image on the mirrors!!

I must admit I like your idea...

I like these especially after having seem froudy's in the flesh - shame not silver or chrome as black may slow the bike down !!  :smile2:
