That's the bit that's so frustrating I have te plate on the bike they told me to put on

The law is civil if I did go out a copper can only report my for no tax he can't give me a fine it's up to dvla to fine me and pursue back duty but it was sarn to Saturday so they can only chase for April and if I taxed it nothing to pursue - not worth chasing but I'm not riding they just need to get it together computers should get it right

Paulpmy

This is what they told me to do

OK. Having seen the date you made the transfer, what you might want to try is taxing again in the morning before calling DVLA.
Reason I say that is that similar to banks, some systems don't update over Bank Holiday periods (as there is no-one on a Bank Holiday to check that the job has run properly or not), so it may well be that the transaction has gone through but has not (yet) replicated across the various systems. Likelihood is that that run to replicate would be tonight, so would show first thing tomorrow.
Just a possibility that's all.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Lovely looking bike Paul
An unfortunate thing I don't think the time of year with the holidays has helped you.
Even tho it's all computerised they still need a human to work it and most take holidays so problems don't get sorted out .It's very flustrating I'm sure .
hopefully you'll get a good summer out on your bike
only a slightly modified gsx1400

No such issues here - no road fund licence (or mot for bikes)  :stir:

Vive la France  :cheesy:
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

The deed is done!!!

So - it was a question of systems not having replicated then? Or did you have to call DVLA?

Called dvla the plate that they said they had assigned as in the picture, they had not actually assigned .the old reg that was on my bike they removed that from the vehicle database to assign the new plate which they didn't do. So effectively the last 6 days the bike has had no identity, the bike is now taxed for one year however all agency computers will not update for up to five days and could get stopped many times until it is, but woman at dvla says it is taxed. At least before you had a piece of paper to display that proved it was taxed, some times progress doesn't work quickly enough..

Relieved that it's all sorted now and I can go and enjoy the fruits of all the hard work that has been put in to it before taking it out to play.

One of the members on the Bandit Forum got pulled yesterday for riding his bike while SORN'd...He was very lucky and got sent on his way after taxing it in front of the Police officer. He just got a bollocking and told NEVER to do it again.
I'd say a VERY lucky escape.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!
