Looking forward to the TT.
Hope the Norton does what John McGuiness tells it. Not like last years bikes he and Guy Martin rode.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I had a test ride on the Norton 961 last year, I would like one as a second bike...the 14 stays tho'.

Yeah aside from the massive oil issues...
Yer wot?  They drink it, they leak it? they burn it?  :whatever:

Oil ends up in the airbox.  A lot of oil.

Norton released a fix being some plastic plugs, which MIGHT work in the UK but just melted here in Australia (a mate owns one)

The follow up Norton fix ?  The factory said just reduce the volume of oil by about a litre... yeah well on 37 degree days that's not gonna do a lot for the engine's longevity is it.   (It has a wet clutch too)

Apparently the only way to really fix it is to crack the cases and re-engineer the baffles so... not cheap.

My view of these modern Nortons - they look gorgeous, are great to ride, but I wouldn't want to own one....

Lucky we have our 14s. Doesnt sound like Norton have improved since 1973, my last one. Was the biggest piece of junk. Can list faults in 5 th ks if needed, more than any 14 in 500 th. My worst bike by a long way.

the race norton
is a bit if a missmash
its got aprillia engine casings heaverly reworked by norton in a spondon frame using quality race suspension brakes and wheels.
not really a full production bike .
only a slightly modified gsx1400

The 961 chassis is a ripper though.  AGAIN we need a Triton.  Norton frame wrapped around a Triumph engine... :)

It's just the thought of him streaking - if he gets a result...   :hat:
