I joined the org over 15 years ago and to come here makes me feel like I'm deserting a sinking ship.

Will a search of this site reveal all of the technical information posted by members over those 15 years or will the emergence of this site piss Synk off to the point he closes the org and that information is lost?

Hey Snapey - no it won't all be here.  At least not yet of course.  Any site takes time to build.  A number of technical articles have been developed from info on the olfd ORG, and elsewhere on the net, which will be posted as time permits.

I have a standing offer to Synk (as he doesnt see particularly interested or have the time to mainatin the old org so much) 'to migrate the info from the old ORG.

Naturally that would require his cooperation, but I hope if he ever were to consider closing the old site, he'd do the right thing by everyone and allow that info to be migrated.

I hold no ill-will to Synk et al, just want things to progress. This new site allows us to take advantage of many newer things such as facebook integration / sign on that people do like these days.

In any event, I am absolutely not trying to stop anyone from being a member of the old ORG.  Perhaps consider this one an insurance policy against future issues / loss of the old one.  In other words.... why not both ?!

Hey Pete - no buddy it won't. I have it all safely downloaded, its taking me a while to bring each topic together, but eventually I'll get all that I have uploaded here.

You do though make a valid point - I do wonder whether Synk will get the hump and close the org when he becomes aware of this place.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Michael, Dave, thanks for putting my mind to rest. Let's just hope Synk comes to the party.

well it would be great to have both sites working to keep the 1400 family happy and going strong. the last thing any one wont if for the info and members to disappear  there is to much time and effort gone into this and the old site for that to happen we all just wont whats best for use  all and the 1400
look check and look again  then you see the fool

MRG... I'm totally with you on that... It's not only the amount of info... but the wealth of knowledge the membership has collectively that would be impossible to document in a logical and usable way!  Seems we're going to need both forums but I wonder how many members will use/contribute to both?  One can only hope  :salute:

Also guilty , but not as guilty as Synk for not even looking in, taking an interest or even replying on the org.! it is offensive and lacks respect for all the members that have imput over the years

the other place is very quiet
i think the regular posters are already here or have given up there .
hardly any new posts
i still post there but have been a little busy here too.

i hope it doesn't come across as showing off  as just trying to give imput for others  to comment on and add to.
building this place into something worthy of having gsx1400 in its title.
i love my 14's as folk might have noticed with the way the old org is going to crash like the first org did and everything will could be lost totally.
last time it spawned the facebook group (which i like or use as info is lost to quickly just because how it works )
there is do much info and advice from the owners of these bikes that would be a crime
so we need to this place to flourish and keep the info and knowledge alive

Thanks Seth.

Again I consider this place as an adjunct / companion to the old org but I hope that (at least I'm doing my best) to make this site offer a better user experience.

Totally agree on FB - it's great for instant feedback (gratification? LOL ) but the nature of it means that info is fleeting and really hard to find later.

There's a place for everything.

I'm glad people are enjoying, and contributing to, this place. Thank you all.
