I've run out of solvol (which I rate a 7.5 out of 10) and resorted to this citrus stuff I found at the back of the shed. I rate this stuff a solid 3 out of 10.  Dishwashing detergent does a MUCH better job ...

There seems to be a 2016 expiry date on it.. WTF? How can hand cleaner expire?

I know years ago a workshop I frequented had this great stuff in a bucket where you pulled a stick out of it, grabbed some of the 'stuff' of the stick, dropped the stick back in. And the stuff on your hand was an AWESOME cleaner.  What WAS that stuff?

Anyone if you Aussies could recommend a locally available and yet fantastic hand cleaner, I'm all ears !

I can't find it online, but I use some hand cleaner I "acquired" from work years ago. It's called Printers Mate.
It's a white paste with granules in it. It shifts anything..Brilliant stuff.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

This will work like a charm and is to be had in the supermarkets in all countries the 14 was made for:

Skin pH-neutral liquid soap and, for the hard case, skin pH-neutral dish soap. Latter makes an excellent detergent to clean the bike and is great for cleaning them calipers. It's probably great for cleaning the chain as well.

Convince your wife to use it in bathroom and kitchen and let her do the shopping :imrgreen:

Never heard of it.  I'll keep an eye out.

Skin pH-neutral is not a brand but an attribute meaning that the product has the same pH as skin. Usually says it on the label. Just look for liquid soap/dish soap that says "Sensitive" on it. Usually says in smaller print pH-neutral.

Mike, go down to Repco & get some "Lightening Scrubber" there's 2 sorts, a citrus one & a heavy duty one. I have the heavy duty one, but wouldn't again, I'd stick to the citrus with granules. much better job & smells nicer IMO.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

I use a teaspoonful of sugar and a squirt of washing up liquid. Works brilliantly.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I buy Ford hand cleaner, it's a sort of paste that looks like sand, it is better than swarfega or any other cleaners we have used, wet your hands and scoop a small a out its brilliant and not too dear, the mechanics like it too

ARH

Bet you guys moisturise as well!  :rofl2:  :stir:

Mister Fishfinger

Not sure if you can easily get Swarfega in Oz, but I recently switched to the orange type Swarfega in a 4 litre pump dispenser. I was really surprised, it seems to work better than the original green type and also smells nice and orangey (as you would expect from the name). Like the original, put it on dry and then wash off with water.

grog

Stok Solopol is my choice. Just a little tube lasts ages. Smells nice, made from almond shells. Online for $15. Repco used to sell it, think Blackwoods do.

Batkwaka

Morning Fresh concentrated dishwashing liquid.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Kiwifruit

In the past have used WD40 and a freshly laundered white towel.
Proved to be an accidental but foolhardy mistake !!  :wife:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Well I happened to be at Supercheap this morning buying a grog chain lube kit. (trademarked, all rights reserved)  20% off today too
Anyway, while I was their I grabbed some Septone stuff - will see if that's any use.
