Hi guys, im looking for recommendations on where to buy a braced swingarm?, i want to fit an oversize tyre as well, probably a 210, i had one on my harris magnum and it handled pretty good,i think it will fit on my 6" rim but failing that i,ll have to find a wider rear wheel, im looking for an underbraced swingarm in black with provision for bobbins to use a paddock stand, any help and advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Not sure about where to get a braced swing arm, but I'd be wary of fitting a 210 rear tyre to a standard GSX14 rim.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Stoli has a braced swingarm on his. He might know where to get one.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Yea id take advice before fitting a 210 to a 6" rim but im pretty sure it would be ok, either that or id fit a 200

you can get your std swing arm braced like mine for £90 plus postage round or square tubing by a guy i know up here he's done a few now mine and yoda's and someone from here not that long ago by him but done diffently .
have a look at the pics
he could also do the bobbin mounts .
im not sure about the 210 tyre fitting but some have used 200 tyres but not sure if 50 or 55 profiles .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Metmachex are the boys for replacement braced swing arms http://metmachex.net/swingarm-prices/ (that's what Stoli has fitted)

As for a 210 profile rear tyre - I seem to recall one being fitted to a turbo'd 14 some years ago, using the standard swing arm, however I believe the standard swing arm had to be cut and re-welded to accommodate the tyre around the front of the swing arm as either the tyre rubbed on the front walls of the swing arm arms, or got in the way of the chain run, can't remember which. Not that I have tried, but I think a 200 profile tyre is about the biggest you can fit.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

artnoon all..

GKjnr has been in touch and ive sent him a load of pikkies of my braced swing arm and links to Mechamex - hope he gets it sorted and at a great price too.  mine was already on so couldn't be too mc help apart from saying heres mine and look here...  hope its of some help tho.

re a 210 rear - @barmy & Halibag - isnt a 200 the MAX you can go without cutting / mods.  Halibag I'm sure had a 200 in when we went on a run and I think I remember him saying it was a tight fit

nice having a fat ass to look at but it doesn't do a lot for the bike in real terms or gains.

hope everyone is well and looking fwd to a bit of sun or even a dry day to get out and about !!!

That's what I alluded to above Stoli, I seem to recall Steve on the old org (can't remember his name, but he was always building specials and turbos and doing cracking jobs)  who did cut and weld to get a 210 to fit had a bit of a job getting it all lined up and sorted (and he knew what he was doing as well).

Regards Metmachex - unless Metmachex do a special for him, I'm pretty sure a 210 won't fit in one of their swingarms.

Just googling on the web - wonder what these guys in the US could do for him http://www.rccomponents.com/suzuki-products/suzuki-sportbike-swingarms.htm - could go up to a 300 section

Hi Barmy
I only ever saw Halibags at 200 section rear.  We stopped for a coke at the lovely pub in the sunshine and he was talking of the issues with rear sizes.
My next door neighbour has a B-Queen and hes had the back end "done" by a UK Co and its got a 330 section rear!  not my cuppa coco but its mahoosive.  a One-off swing arm and I'm happy to ask where he got it done - but then were moving off Braced to One Off which isn't the original ask..

Looks like from the Web - Metchamex still do a brace and they are in Peterborough by the looks of it

good luck MGjnr and show us pikkies please

Thanks for all the info guys, ive always fancied the huge rear wheel setups that u see the mericans with but they would probably cost as much as the bike did!! I,ll do a bit of mucking about when the weather gets nicer as i cant be arsed messing about in the rain and tbh its not that that desperate, thanks again for all the input

Hi Gkjnr I can vouch for Seth's contact re bracing the original swinging arm. I got mine done with a boxed section really pleased with the outcome. Could have polished it up but went the power coating route.  The guy has skills

Gkjnr

Hi yoda do u have any pics of ur box section brace? I really dont like the tubular brace that some get

Yoda

Hi I will post some photos tomorrow
