Im thinking about putting a set of radial calipers on either my ZRX or my 1400 - I can get brackets for both but thought Id better sort out a set of calipers - I managed to get a set of Tokico 4 potters from the states for the sum of £22.00 ($30.00) including postage and customs charge it was about £43.00 in total - there not the best bit they have new pads and stainless pistons - so today I found time to strip them down to get them cleaned and repainted . . . . and to they need repainted

I stripped them down and the brake fluid is like peanut butter but despite this the seals and pistons are in very good condition

Hi Del
Watching with interest as I've just bought 4 pots off Froudy, do you know if the 6 pot pinch bolts fit the 4 pot?
They are currently std Gold but will be painted Matt Black 👍

Cheers

Hi Nige

some of the 4 pots have the same thread as the Tok 6's but I think teh Nissins are a fine thread bit I have some here if needed

Not sure if you also need replacement brake lines for the 4 potters (or is area where they connect similar/same as the 14)?

Ooh not considered that Dave
I have HEL lines on but
I'll have a look at that when I get them unless someone who's done the conversion chips in!

I've got a pair of SV1000 Tokico 4 pots on the way over from Greece at the moment.
I'm hoping the banjo's on my Wezmoto lines are at the right angle to fit straight onto them. I've got a selection of stainless banjo bolts here in case the thread pitch is different...Fingers crossed.

PS..Note to self. Remember to order pads for them!

Eventually I think I will do this mod...
Maybe next April..
I recently fitted new pads and I am just too tight to effectively throw them away.

My 6 pot pads and new lines have only done 4k Speedy but when I saw the 4 pots for sale on here just jumped in. I'm hoping the bolts can be used as I'd upgraded to Pro bolt stainless!!!

You might be Ok Nigel - just looked the stainless pinch bolt kit up on Probolt, and under product fitment it says (amongst others)...

Motorcycle Suzuki SV1000 03-04
Motorcycle Suzuki SV1000S 03-04

Excellent!  thanks Dave, I guess its wait and see on the banjo bolts, although when I went to the garage on Sun it appears I have a leak from one of the lines at the bolt junction, so will be a good opportunity to have a closer look at that.

I've had that happen for no apparent reason before Nigel - took line off, cleaned around the area and replaced both copper banjo washers and all was good afterwards.

On the lines you will probably be ok using your existing ones, its really just checking that any angles on the existing lines to accommodate the 6-pots don't interfere with the line run for the 4-potters. If they don't then all will be good. Although if you are checking your current calipers and have the banjo bolt out, just check it screws into the new ones, as you can get different threads. I don't think there is an issue there - and you can always use the existing banjo bolts in worst case - but if you can check, its one less hassle!

Thanks Dave, I was a bit mystified why it was leaking as its been sat for 4 weeks! The guy I share the garage with spotted it and said he's tightened it for me which is probably not what was required!!

I'll give it a full assesment before buying nymore bits, I already have the oem, plus black, plus titanium pinch bolts!
