I have very good peripheral vision. I can see a shapely young lady at a good 80 degrees right and left without my eyes leaving the straight ahead position. It's saved me many a slap when the better half thought I was letching  :P, but then rethought that when I wasn't looking directly at the aforementioned SYL.
Mirror sunglasses work too.  :8:

Oh, I can see several spots btw..........
Currently prefer two strokes, but they're Suzukis, so I ain't all bad.

I prefer your peripheral vision test to the dots one Alan.  Definitely more stimulating.  For those with a risk aversion, you shouldn't be riding a bike for a start & secondly, do not attempt this test, it won't be worth it if you fail.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

As a teenager and a passenger in a mates Morrie Minor......in Queen Street, Aucklands main street our peripheral vision alerted the lads to some svelt young things walking down the footpath on the other side of the road.
They in turn looked to check out what all the noise was about..... as the front of the Morrie penetrated the boot area and taillights of the car in front.
:embarrassed: :embarrassed:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

We actually decent movement better in our peripheral vision than directly in front.
Ask  military pilot,  S&R crewman,  etc

Its an evolution thing
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Fortunately, some of us refuse to evolve, and just keep the 'lady radar/vision' working, whatever the angle.
Age is no problem.
