I do like your enthusiasm..
Its 5.15am on Saturday morning and its still dark outside.
Remember I dont have a garage so I have to work outdoors on the patio in front of my Flat ..

I now have the tyres fitted and I asked them to fit the right angled tyre valves whilst they were at it.

At around 9am I will start the re assembly of Sophie and then will take some photos when she's back in one piece (promise)..
Then some short gentle test rides and back home to check all torque settings..
Thankfully Sunday is looking like a gorgeous day ! :)

Thanks everyone for your interest and encouragement.

You're a bit slow Speedy. Could you not have popped in some French Doors while your wheels were being powdercoated?
We are a bit spoilt here not having to plan working on the bike around the weather. Don't think there would be many homes here without a garage.
Wheels are looking good  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

1756 you say Speedy......... 1822 is NZ's oldest European building, most likely no garage with that one though.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

1756 pommy cars about the same as todays, not much improvement.  :) :)

The wheels are fantastic ( clearly would be better and faster in blue ) but you gotta paint those weights Simon !  :smile2:

Im totally knackered...
Some "expert" fitted 1 front wheel bearing in the rear and 1 rear wheel bearing in the front !!!!!!!
To say I exploded on the phone is putting it mildly.
I fitted the front wheel first and so didnt notice anything amiss..
Wheel in.. Calipers mounted.. Mudguard on..

Half way through struggling with the rear wheel (Disc side was the correct one) I couldn't get the axle all the way through..
I removed the wheel and tried the axle and then I discovered the error..

At this stage I couldn't rant at the bike shop because it just might have been an incorrect bearing that had been supplied to me (I bought the bearings online)..
So off with the bloody front wheel to check what was in there..
Yep.. As I suspected 1 rear and 1 front !!!

I got in the car and charged round to the bike shop..
They initially said "you cant expect us to drop what we are doing on a Saturday morning"...
I know the boss of the place pretty well and have his personal mobile number..
I offered to phone him (he isn't there on a Saturday) and tell him of the attitude of one of his employees.
The guy then all of a sudden realised he might be able to correct it whilst I hung around...

Anyway I am going for a red hot bath and a beer !!

ARH

That looks mighty fine speedy....  shame you didn't paint the wheel weight tho..  :stir: :rofl2:

Notty

red hot bath of course - if you wanted a fast bath it would be blue and white ! Lol  :smile2:

Bike looks red hot

This story reminds me (again and again) why I do as much work myself.

Looks Great Fella - the red accents suit the red wheels - pisser about the bearings
