Thanks very much Froudy..
I wonder if I could fit bolts into the threads leaving them screwed all the way in for the powder coating process ?
The powder coating company already told me on the phone they mask off the bearing orifices.

Thanks again for your input.

That's what I would do Simon, can5 see an issue with that personally. But maybe ask the guys doin* th3 powdercoat what they recommend......?

Thanks again Dave...
Do you happen to know what diameter the bolts are?
I am guessing M6 ?
Standard thread or fine ?

Thanks Dave..
I dont think I can stretch to Titanium after forking out for powder coating, wheel bearings and possibly a set of tyres.

I was thinking just 10 cheap bolts whilst the wheels are being powder coated...
I can get a dozen cheap and chearful ones now I have the thread size.

Simon - wasn't suggesting you buy them - ye God's at that price neither would I, the link was purely to give you relevant information for getting 10 cheapy Bolts from eBay or your local hardware store to use whilst your wheels were being powder coated.

Sorry if I caused confusion  :embarassed:

bolts in holes, great idea. i once stuffed up, got wheels powdercoated, bearing holes also. took a while to get it out.

Hooli

Why buy any bolts? You'll be taking the discs off anyway, so just stick the normal bolts back in the holes.

Hi Hooli

I didnt want the bikes own stainless bolts powder coating.
As Dave says I just want cheepo ones to protect the threads.

But the disc mounting faces will be masked off anyway, so just put the bolts in before masking them.

seth

as hooli says any mating faces will need to be masked off before and cleaned of any exess powdercoat after that gets under the masking before refitting of bearings and disc's making sure the surfaces are spotless or it will effect the running of the disc's.
