Irish in Oz

Thinking of going back next year

KiwiCol

Some unsealed roads there Irish, how does she go on them?  Mine seems to have quite an aversion to unsealed & loose shingle roads, looses her manners altogether.  Mind you, she does have good road tyres on, not really shod for off road. My quad bikes & dirt bikes on same road no prob, so horses for courses I guess.
Mind you, there's a 'newish' member over in Aussie & he rides his on unsealed roads no issue, so, could be just me.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

grog

i once rode from cradle mtn in snow, my coldest ride ever.

One day I'll make it down to do Tassie - but will need to be in summer. Looks beautiful  :onya:

Globalrider

That is one place I have never ridden - I'll put it on my Bucket List!!

I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Col, there wasn't a lot of unsealed roads most where north east around Gladstone to coast and South from Southport to Cockle Creek about 60K return to get to southern most tip of Oz. I take it easy and ride to the conditions, I'm used to going off road as Snapey often gets lost these days.
Grog we where lucky with weather Cradle Mountain and beyond day run was good but you can still feel the cool air. The mountain pic is Wellington looking to Hobart great ride up there, sunny at sea level sunny half up and sleet and freezing at the top, some in cars forgot to bring a jacket lol.
Roads are just brilliant really enjoyed the west side Queenstown.

Endless

Glorious roads! Last time was a bad juju trip; bee stings on second day, swollen face for days, mate needed an airflift outside of Strahan. Skittled on some rocks that had been flicked onto the road by vehicles cutting the corner, ejected into embankment, performed some cartwheels and had bike land on him. I then rode through kilometres of smoke from a bushfire to get to Hobart hospital, roads closing behind me. Apocalyptic. Bike got knocked over whilst parked and was a write off. Been angling to complete the ride we never finished for a couple of years now, if all goes well we'll be down there in January.

Gra Har the guy on the backbird  is from Smithton, he returned home about a year ago, used to ride with him out of Sydney, I phoned him from Stanley and he was having a coffee at Ulverstone next door to you. We stayed in Devonport for about three days doing radial rides. And similar from other towns for 2 weeks.
We met up with (does anyone remember) Suzy Q at Port Arthur.
