Endless

Not sure about posting multiple pics but here it goes - Ride I did a year ago to uluru and the olgas. There was a bunch of rain a few months before so everything was in bloom as it warmed up. Beginning of winter I did a camel expedition into the Simpson desert - absolutely carpeted with flowers. People expect it to be desolate and not much growing. Bike loves these long rides, I whack the sheepy on and she's comfortable all day. Wouldn't mind a throttle lock though.

I know Rocket and 14 cant be compared, but still, if you could, what would you say?
By numbers, Rocket have almost twice of torque of 14 - what about feelings?

Well to be honest i cant compare them anyway. I have never ridden a standard 14 as mine is a 1550.

That said, as for the size, the R3 feels like it has a much greater road presence due to the stance, seating position and the sheer size. The pull is quite similar between my 14 and the R3, they both give you that satisfying need to hold on for dear life when you pull the throttle back.

As for cornering, well, i am extremely supprized with the R3's abilty to corner. I have already started to grind the pegs. Something i never felt confident with on the 14.

For me, the comfort is amazing on the rocket i did 784 miles this weekend between 5pm friday to 5pm today i dont think i would have been as well off as i am now if i had been on the 14. (Broken spine n all.)

All being said, the 14 has an extra thrill factor and a top end that the R3 does not have. They compliment each other perfectly, they both give you a massive grin from ear  to ear but for different reasons....

One last thing to note, i was quite supprised by the attention and respect you get from other bikers and in fact none bikers when they see your R3. And pulling up at traffic lights next to a Hardly is hillarious, they bow their heads in shame

Thanks for the comparison. I think Triumph should hire you for advertising shootings. Maybe one with you "pulling up at traffic lights next to a Hardly".  You and the bike together look like a great match.

Went for a little trot this morning. Confidence is improving after many years out of the saddle and I'm really enjoying it.
Just a pic of some local scenery about 10kms from home.

Went for a scoot around the lake yesterday, even went up the hill....400 ish K's....a big ride for me as i usually crack the shits after 45 min or so on the thing...

KiwiCol

Good on ya mate, big effort to get that far if you're used to just 45 min stints. Long may it continue.  :onya:

I looked at both the Rocket 111 and V-Max as alternatives to the B-King.
Both offer heaps of grunt and a more laid back riding style but neither have
the tuning potential, Sportsbike spec running gear (chain drive and 17" wheels etc) and the "hooligan" feel of the Busa based naked Suzuki.

I can certainly see why folk buy them, and I would take one any day over a
Harley / V-Rod / 109 etc but they just didn't suit me.
