I am used to that setup from another bike forum.

Generals posts dont count. Only posts in technical area 's

But that was put in place to delay access to the classifieds.

The off topic boards all add life to the place, make it a more vibrant place to be.  I don't think doing anything that might curtail the atmosphere & feel of the place would be a step in the right direction.

Now here's an off the wall idea, 2 counters? 1 for technical stuff etc & an off topic one?

But, in the end, why does it matter how many posts a member has?  Just 2 NZ cents worth, which is about 1 Aussie cent & a halfpenny in UK.
