What's the BEST colour for a 1400.    :whistling:

FYI this link shows the various colour schemes the GSX1400 came in.

My top 3 would be....

1: The Back with Gold wheels version.
2: The all Black version.
3: The AU White / Blue "Special Edition" (the TRUE final edition model)
.

KiwiCol

They'd also be my top 3 Tony & in the same order.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Black!

Just to sprinkle this with a little debate powder here is my opinion on why Black is my preferred choice.

As a muscle bike it needed an outfit to portray the image, ever seen a bouncer in a white, red or silver suit?
As a muscle bike it needed to look menacing and have a presence that said look but don't touch.
As a muscle bike it doesn't need to be in your face, better to draw respectful attention.

For me the solid colours give the 14 its true identity,  Black, Blue, or Silver with subtle quality mods give the bike a mature, respected, sophisticated presence, a little like the Rolls of the cage world, this is not to say that subtle flashes of colour cant express the bike more but they must for me be limited in size and blend rather than jump out at you.
When I bought my first K7 it was Blue and white of which at the time I quite liked and still do, it didn't appear shell suited if you get what I mean, I have however recently bought a K6 in solid black which to be honest I feel needs something adding just to lift its dark appearance,( gold wheels perhaps? ) before purchase I was actually looking for  a red / black K6 but having checked one out I started having doubts so left it alone and bought a black one, I did however buy a red black tank cover to experiment colour coordinating with but this has drawn a blank.
All you blue white owners will be thinking what a load of bull by now and I wouldn't expect anything less to be honest but keep calm as I do love looking at all 14s, from the ice cream van, shell suit brightly coloured to the unloved rat types, I just feel that Bandits or other naked bikes carry the bling and soft colours better than the 14.
over to you :onya:

Why shake, rattle and roll when you can ride in style, get yourself a GSX1400..........................Any colour as long as its?

Mine is a 2007 Blue and white fe which I like but it's just paint  :stir:
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I just want milk that tastes like milk  seriously though I chose the bike because I like the feel of it, low seat height and it's a true jappa retro Gruntmaster. I first started riding in 1972 on a naked bike (CB175 Honda red/black) and I'll finish up on the 14, and yes this is my last bike

I was hovering a little just before I bought my 14 just over 11 years ago now. Walked into the dealers with no expectation of buying a bike and there is was in Red and Black. That swung it. After a short period of haggling over price and extras I signed up on the spot due to love at first sight with my Red and Black beauty.

White wheels - not for me as I like riding my bikes so much more than cleaning them.
Solid coloured 14s - for me a bit boring but if that was all there was I would have one.

Its all subjective - no one is right or wrong on this of course. You could argue that the fact that there are more blue and white ones around means that is the best colour. You could also argue that their buyers were just sheep following the flock. Spiders outnumber the human population by many times and most of them like eating flies - does not make them right though does it?

I walked into the dealership 2002 to buy a 1200 Bandit. Sat on it and was disappointed because of me needing O-shaped legs to comfortably sit on it. "Wait" said the dealer, "I got something a lot better than the Bandit". Right he was! The was a blue 14. The only one available. Packed it in right away and never regretted it. Now I have a silver. Color doesn't matter as the bike is much more than the color (which can be changed anyway). I am certain we all agree on that.

Red Biker

It's Black for me, Leyther you present a very good case and it's difficult to disagree with any of that!
In essence a big muscle bike needs to look a bit mean, which by definition is 'Dark' and sinister, think Batman/Knight Rider/Terminator/SAS etc etc

Other Colours can be 'pretty' but that's not the message I want to portray  :salute:
Having said that I have got Red calipers

Ask yourself this: Did Libre Archie or John Inman ever wear Black? Have you ever seen Arnie in Blue & White?.........My case rests

Red

Many a Donkey has lost its hoof on the rocky road, don't be that Donkey!

Tug

Everybody to there own and rightly so, but when i decided i wanted a 1400 there was only one colour scheme for me which is the Blue and white, just to add to this and i have owned approximately 300 bikes, i have never been bothered about colour of any of my bikes before, but the blue and white gives me a warm feeling.

sad
Definitely maybe

Sweaty

I forgot about this pole & just seen the results. Glad to see there are a lot of you with good taste  :stir:
