Thinking there m8 1.5 pitch. What's the length ?

You are right 1.25 is standard for m8

Haha - plus I'm in Madeira right now so can't look st my list - well that's my excuse - but I'm glad someone remembered to look at my list (as I forgot........doh!)

If you changing out exhaust bolts it might be     
worth considering putting in galvenised studs and copper M10 nuts, it does away with the thread galling issues.
