I'll chip in with my usual comment - Avon Spirit STs.

I find they turn in better than any Bridgestones I've tried, stick great in all weathers and last. Just what I want from a tyre.

Nothing wrong with old out of date tyres

I had a new PR4GT do that, after just 1,000 miles. Hence I try to never buy Michilens as the company's response was diabolical.

Pirelli car tyre, 50ks flew to pieces. Pirelli answer also crap. Told me it had been fitted incorrectly, I fitted it myself.Wasnt the fitting. Never got any compensation, funnily I use Pirelli bike tyres🤷🏼

I've spent a bit on the suspension on the Deluxe and it's pretty good for a big heavy girl. Also the Cruise Tech tyres are great. I spoke with my mechanic this afternoon and he recommends the Road 6 tyres. There seems to be quite a few people who like them so I'll give them a go.

I second that, I've used Avons on my 14 and my beemer, a great tyre.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I've got Pilot Road 6 on Snotbox, I can't fault them except for longevity. I think I got about 6k from the rear, it's a guess as it was part worn when I got it but going on how long it lasted & how quick the replacement is down to a similar level it should be about right.
They are great in mid winter though, lots of grip & confidence on cold, wet roads. So no surprise they're a bit soft for long life.

Quote from: Tony Nitrous on Sunday, 16 August  2026, 01:03 PMIf you do lower mileage and value grip and feel, I'd 100% fit my favorite S23's and personally I like the slightly taller 55 rear. The 14's geometry isn't real sporty and the taller rear is a nudge in the right direction. It just offers better shape, tip in etc.

Not doing huge mileage, wanting grip and liking corners I'd rule out any Angel or Road touring tyre and enjoy what a sports tyre offers.

I'd also consider the S22's. I still use them if I can't get a 23 in the size I like or if there's a smoking hot deal. Sportsbike tyre of the year back to back are real popular with Hayabusa owners.

To be honest, most modern tyres are pretty good, they just suit different folk. The exception being the crappy Angel GT2's. ...

After doing a bit more research on Google and using the AI part I think I've changed my mind. It tells me for the type of riding I do and wanting a quick steering tyre, the Bridgestone S23 is the one I should go for. Not a bad price at the moment for a set at $570 delivered. That is for the 55 profile rear as well.

My last chat to my tyre guy here in Perth he recommended either Angels or the Road 6s for heavier bikes, and Bridgestone for medium to heavy.  To me, the 1400 falls in the latter. Ive currently got Bridgestone T31's on, great tyre (see earlier in this thread) Probably done around 5-6k, can't actually remember.  They're due for replacement more due to age than wear
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Mr Gee

Some like these and others like those but there is only one, tyre to choose.  :stir:

The one that suits you, your bike and your style of riding.  :salute:

Exact correct MrGee, prob is once fitted they're yours, that's the only way to check suitability.

100% will only know once on.

Every Bridgestone tyre I've tried has been quite slow steering so I'm not sure what the Artificial Imbecile is on about. That includes S22s that the Bloo Thing came with.

One of the reasons I prefer Avons is the quicker turn in.

Prob correct Tony, most modern tyres are bloody good, some of the crap we used to ride on, scary to think about.Im gonna get sporty tyres next time, don't do many ks now.Angels have been good over a decade, pity they messed up GT2.

I took the bike off the work stand and found the numbers 02 21. So still over 5 years old but not as old as I thought.
