Visited grave number two of the Rorke's Drift VC winners.  John Chard an engineer who commanded Rorke's Drift for the two days of fighting.

Raglan Castle. Dropped a glove into the moat.

Which was thank's to the unbritishly, hot weather had dried up.  :clapping:

Enabling one of the staff, to retrieve it for me.  :notworthy:

@MrGee that looks awesome. My next visit to UK will be to visit as many as possible.
We visited Peel Castle on IoM, not much of it left.
They knew how to build things back in those days. Built between 15th 16th century according to Wikepedia 😳

Only 172K's (107 miles) but a lot of that was on dirt and gravel.  Googa Creek, Mt Binga, Pine Forests and National Park.  That's OK for a weekday morning in Winter.

Set out for the Cheddar Gorge but due to a road closure, had to take a diversion.

Whilst on the diversion route, saw a sign and changed my mind, which isn't unusual for me, even without a diversion.

Ended up, on the opposite side of the Severn estuary, at Tintern Abbey, Which is being extensively, refurbished.  :clapping:  :smitten:

The history abounds, you guys don't realise how lucky you are.
Aborigines claim to have lived here 20,000+ years. I haven't seen anything they built. 🐂💩

Certainly enough needs doing, to the place, to keep someone, busy for a weekend or two.  :happy1:

It was -1 C at the parkrun Saturday.
It's was 3 degrees C when I took the dog out this morning for our regular morning 4.2K's.

Didn't go out until almost 9am, still cold and didn't seem to get any warmer whilst I was out.

Several layers on, winter gloves, quilted bike touring jacket etc... still to cold for me!

A lazy 199K's / 124 miles, and I was quite happy to be heading home.  Roads were dry, very little traffic, some nice scenery, it was still nice to be out but that was enough for today.

Well it took me over 3,000K's but I finally did that unplanned (gravel road) dismount!

A few scuffs to the bike and a couple to me, hardly noticeable.  Can't complain, I was having fun and doing what the bikes built for.

Being the high side of 60 I have a feeling it going to hurt more in the morning...

My wife's sympathy extended as far as "If you break any bones between now and our holiday I'll bloody murder you!"
