Chain Tensioners

Hey guys,

I know this is a topic that has been spoken about before, I found the posts from 2017 about the Gilles TCA B6 chain tensioner.

From what I have been able to find, they are no longer manufactured and I am trying to get a set of paddock stand pickups on the swingarm, I do not want to drill or modify the swingarm as this may not pass scrutineering at the track.

If anyone knows of a suitable replacement or has a pair of the B6 for sale, please let me know. Happy to purchase internationally.

I used the flat pad pickups that fit just inside the swigarm you need good aim. 😳

I have the right angle pick ups, I just would prefer to have the bobbins as I also want to use the dynamoto paddock stand at home to store the bike

Is welding out of the question? I'm not familiar with track scrutineering requirements but that's what I did with mine after I gave up the search for chain tensioners with pickups.

I'm several hours away from my bike for another week and don't have any better pictures unfortunately.

Not sure about the welding, I imagine they would be rather picky about any mods to frame or swingarm.

The job looks tidy and is a possible solution

Cheers for that, I just got onto their US website and ordered a set.

As for the paddock stand, I am waiting on dynamoto to get the rear stand back in stock, I ordered the set for my R1200 GSA yesterday. Once they are back in stock I will get another pair, so I can use them on the 1400 and on my S 1000R

Got those installed a year or two ago; Quite inexpensive and do the job nicely.
A couple of things, though:
Their central hole diameter is quite close to the actual axle diameter, so close that the one that will host the opposite side of the nut will not freely fully get in. Therefore they have to be ground by about 2 tens of a millimeter to slide nicely as OEM ones.
The provided bobbins have a kind of 'shoulder' behind the inside tapered stopper that helps to easilly hook the paddock stand. As the 14 swingarm is quite large, it appears necessary to grind this 'shoulder' so that the bobbins won't sit too wide for the paddock stand. That will also make them seated 'flush' on the tensioner, which looks cleaner. (hope that this decription is clear enough :-)

Dynamoto look good but up near a grand. Chinese options looks ok, grease up the castors,spray Lanox on slidy bits 👍Mate used similar on big old Rocket, no dramas.Handy to turn my bike around.

I just got a set of the Dynamoto for my R1200 GSA, absolutely love them, I know they are pricey, but with the cost and weight of the bike, I decided to go with a brand that is in Australia and I can get parts easy if I need them.
