Mrs first Friday off of her new 4 day working week / 3 day weekend.

So we went to the pub to celebrate...

Just me, but think I would of celebrated with more than a couple of sausages n mash with peas.   Least throw in a couple of eggs . . .  and a steak with mushroom sauce and some Garlic Bread and prawn cocktail with seafood chowder finish off with a huge piece of Baileys Cheese cake with fresh whipped cream and grated 70% cocoa chocolate topping, washed down with some nice port.      or fish n chips . . .   :happy1:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Irish in Oz

I've got a couple of these in my boat but bought this one because it does multi range voltage.

Engine oil (Penrite HPR5) for the Bavarian Mistress,  on special 50% off at SCA

3 cans of brake and parts cleaner, 30% off down to 6.33 per can

A little mate bottle oil pump, also 50% off. I have a larger drum pump and I bodgied up an old shampoo bottle pump, but that always leaked on me, especially when filling diffs and gearboxes.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

We'd spent enough on 4 flights, 2 hotels, dog kenneling etc already today.

I was lucky it wasn't beans on toast at home...  :happy1:

I wanted a cheap multimeter just for the house. Always seem to have battery's that are either old, been used, are questionable etc.

Mrs has been on my case about taking stuff to the dump, especially the 10c return bottles and cans. She has quite a stock pile going back a while and I no longer dump them.

She opened an account at the recycling returns depo for me.

On the way to fetch a multimeter I tipped a heap into the machine at the depo... they put $55.60 into my account!
(Didn't look like 556 containers but it was a heap in the Ute so I guess it may be)

Free breakfast and a free multimeter!

(I know it's not really "free" but I'm trying not to think about how many I've taken to the dump over several years!)

My wife wants to save the planet, I like to save $50, either way we both get a result.

We don't have dustbins here anyway,  so rather than tip them out on the way into town, I've been tipping them out at the dump for the last 4 years and getting nothing.

About to get more lucrative, they've added juice, wine and milk bottles to the 10c scheme here in WA.

Only started taking to recyclers this year. Since it started I gave them all to neighbour.Around $25 a trip, pays for something👍

Not sure how many, but as most folk around here have log burners, I noticed the local "Men's Shed" has started trading bundles of kindling for cans.

Not only do we not get paid to recycle, we have to book an appointment to visit the recycling centre, and they wonder why people fly tip.   :confused1:

These are run seperate from our regular waste tips.

My local tip only closes about 3 days a year.
It's pretty good. They take almost anything, no hassle.
No charge, just drive in.

They do like you to seperate green waste, from steel, from general waste if possible, but never give me any grief. It's a good thing, more chance of stuff actually getting recycled.  (I rarely take steel as the scrap yard in town pays well for it)

Every month or two they bring a mulcher in. All the green waste is shredded fine. You can take it home for free as mulch.  I don't, because folk drop too many weeds and stuff I don't want in it, but some folk use it.

The two I use have "Tip Shops". Folk drop off anything they think is useable or can be saved, from push bikes to flower pots, to book cases in a seperate area and it's sold super cheap. My neighbour came home with a trailer to tow around his paddock, floor was rotted out, easy fix $10.
