Quote from: grog on Tuesday, 26 July  2022, 05:48 PMToday i saw a Honda CB 900f, mid 80s. Sitting in shed, just rusting away. Wont sell, says hell get around to fixing one day. He wont, itll just turn to crap. Not a fave bike but just a waste. Annoys me.

Yeah, know what you mean.

My mates the same. Gave up riding 5 years ago but won;t do anything with his bikes, despite my nagging him. They're just sitting there rotting. Makes me mad.  :furious:

we should start a motorcycle restoration show, go around and buy old bikes, fix them up and sell. Like Wheeler Dealers meets American Pickers. Makes good TV.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Like Shed & Buried in the UK, but please without the most boring motorcyclist ever presenting. That Henry Cole can make riding sound so boring I'd give up if subjected to him constantly.

Yes, a sense of humour and more personality than a head of cabbage would be mandatory

True but I'm still, fairly new on here and I've only, just seen it.   :onya:

A couple of mine get a wipe over occasionally, sometimes I add a part or rob one. I know one or two haven't been out of the shed in the last 5 years. They are in the dry with a coat of CRC. I'm quite happy occasionally tinkering about with them. I doubt they will all get ridden again by me though.

There's plenty more out there if folk want to buy one.

Must go, I haven't checked Marketplace or EBay this morning... LOL.

Yeah, not sure how many the guy near me has. Certainly not that many but a few nice ones.

I know one is a quite rare 1 of 500, an OW02 Yam, 26 years old and hasn't been taken out of the crate. A museum would love it. He didn't mention it to me for years, it's just something else stashed away in the shed.

When I were a wee lad hooning around on my fizzy we had a local motorcycle shop ran by the old man ,ex TT racer. In there one day I casually asked about the two crates in the showroom and he explained that one day two lads came in and put down their deposits. In those days the manufacturer sent you the bikes and as the dealer you built them, any way the bikes arrived the lads didn't, no more money's received so he kept them. To this day they are still crated ,with the remaining family members who have all retired back to the Isle of Man. The bikes in question,a pair of Ariel square fours.

On the topic of "New bikes in crates",  a few years back Suzuki said no more GSXR750's in Australia (no ABS). I know where there's one that was registered to get around any future legislation, but has never been taken out of the crate.

There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.

He's on the lead.

Wallabies. Heaps here. He'd absolutely slaughter it if he could catch it. The Wallabies have worked out if he's on the lead or behind the fence they are safe. That one is ready to pop through the fence into the wood just in case.

He wouldn't do well against a Roo, but Wallabies are a lot smaller and unlike a Roo they rarely stand their ground.
