4degC at 5am this morning. Was going to bike it in, decided against it, nice warm train ride into town
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Busy week next week so I thought I'd sneak a few K's in this morning while I could.

Crows Nest, Blackbutt for a Chunky Beef pie, Yarraman for fuel, Nanango, Maidenwell, Cooyar, Kulpie, Oakey, Kingsthorpe, Goombungee, Home.

Dash only said 21 C but the sun was out most of the time and it just felt so much nicer than earlier in the week.

274K's / 170 miles.

Warm enough to eat my pie in the park without a jacket on.

Petrol was 148.5c / 78p a ltr.
Nice when two rival servo's have a price war... LOL!
(Until one closes and the other has a monopoly)

Sunday, up early and out on the xsr9. Didn't have a particular destination in mind just, followed the front wheel.  :onya:

First stop /dinky's Dinah at Ford, near Shrewsbury. Cup of tea and a chat with the only, other person there.  :clapping:

Then up, to Lake Bala. Was told, by a local farmer that all, bikers are fu&*^ing useless wankers and me in particular, because I was parked in the parking bay that he wanted to use.  :happy1:

Returned via Montford Bridge. Talking to a chap who was ninety and only, stopped riding last year, due to ill health.  :salute:

With a final stop at Poolhall. Place was packed out.

The "Welsh Farmer" bit describes a lot of my family.

The "Friendly" part... not so much....  :happy1:

Gee,didn't think a 1400 took up that much room.  Useless twat farmer...

A couple of hours playing on the gravel roads up and down the range, and a run out to Grantham for a coffee and breakfast.

It was a cold morning, and I was not far from home when some misty drizzle started so headed back to my log burner.

The roads I was on today are piss easy in the dry. I've done a few of them on the B-King or the GSX14 in the dry.

They are pretty compact and hard with a light layer of stones and dust. Any vehicle moves about a bit but it's not a huge drama....

.... and then it rains....

..... and it's like riding on ice.

6am, dark, misty fog, cold. Back to the log burner.

10am, what a lovely day! Off to breakfast.

First day of the middle of Winter, definitely not my favorite time of year!
Still managed another 202K's / 125 miles with dry roads and not a spot of rain.
Forecast said 12 to 19 C today but it felt a little warmer.

If I was a smart or wealthy man, I'd be trying to work out how the combine the best bits of a GSX1400 and a Busa.

The 14's looks and style, comfort, riding position etc, and the Gen-2 (or 3's) engine, brakes, ECU etc.

Sadly I'm neither that smart or that wealthy.

Maybe with the Busa's water cooled lump, rad and hoses it'd be as ugly as a B-King and lose a lot of what makes a GSX14 a cool looking bike.

A bit like the joke...
" Monroe once proposed to Einstein, "We could have a baby together—it would be beautiful like me and smart like you." To which Einstein supposedly shot back, "Or worse... smart like you and beautiful like me."

Got up this morning, intending to ride the 14 to work. Saw it was 1C, and decided not to chance the steep, downhill, off camber hill with a bend in it and always in shade, 200m from our drive. Hopped into the Corolla instead.
Age definitely mellows us!
There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.
