Where did you ride today?

I mentioned before. I have a white board hung up in my shed. If I remember I cross off which bike went out and add some mileage. I'm trying to get more motivated and less lazy.
I also don't have a clue what mileage I do so I wrote some down on January 1st.

My goal for the year was to aim for 100 rides and 20,000k's (12,427 miles)

I think I'm currently at 44 rides and 8,400K's (5,230 miles) with 4 weeks to half way so I'm in the ball park.  Sadly no rides for the next few days though. Stuff to do.

Well done, I did say id do the same, but sadly haven't kept a written record for this year, definitely not up near your total, just too much going on.  2 rides at +300km each on the BMW and half a dozen short rides on the 1400 I think.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I'm making the most of it. If my wife carries on working next year it'll only be 2 or 3 days a week and we have other stuff planned, depending on short time of retirement, either way I'll probably be riding less in 18 months time.

Yesterday I went to East Kirkby for the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre's first bike night of the year, they do two. I think I've shown you lot the place before, it's where they're restoring Lancaster NX611 to flight.

Nice day, but 8mm in the rain gauge this morning. Dirt roads through the pine forests and down 15 Mile Rd and past the Military Ammunition Depo to the pub, back home via the twisty backroads up Topps Rd and Silver Pinch Rd and a loop out around back roads of Murra Murra / Bergen.

2 weeks into Winter.
No complaints here.

Rode nowhere, too wet and miserable here in Perth WA.  Geisha Girl snug under her cover in the shed...

Successful op then Eric, Bilbo to Geisha, our first transgender 14 😎

I haven't been out much in the last week. I know the DRZ is built to get dirty and it'd go OK out in the mud and rain, I just find I enjoy it less. 45+ years on bikes I'm happy to do other stuff on rainy days and enjoy being a fair weather rider now.

I managed a ride last Sunday on Suzi, also a ride to Pinjarra on the XJR on Wednesday through a few back roads I never knew existed, rain held off but boy did it belt down late afternoon.

actually the other way around, I had named her Geisha Girl a whike back, Grog coined Bilbo after the long saga trying to find a misfire.  Still funny.

Nowhere in particular. Doing a circular route, testing 14 after temporary repairs to plug cap.

New one's arriving Tuesday.  :onya:

Running smooth now and pulling like a train, again.  :clapping:

However, I stopped at British Camp, Malvern for a cuppa, where I met two guys riding a couple of Zero's.
The SR-F and SR-S models.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

They look like a R1250 RT I reckon, bit quieter though.

An interesting (or maybe not) bit of linguistic irony, from a strict engineering standpoint, those electric bikes are the REAL motorcycles.  It comes down to what a motor is, a motor transforms electrical energy into motion, whereas an engine transforms fuel (petrol, diesel, lpg coal etc) into motion, thus the real motorcycles are the electric jobs, ours are enginecycles!! LOL   We've been misled all these years, just waiting for the real motorcycles to appear.  :happy1:

Now go out & polish your enginecycle . . .
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Eric GSX1400K3

Hmm, technically an "engine-cycle" converts the electrical energy stored in your battery into sparks and starter motor that runs the Otto cycle to produce tractive power that is converted into forward motion by the mechanical chain drive and friction between the tyre and road surface.

So I'm going to polish my battery-electric-motor-otto-traction-cycle.

I could cope with the aesthetics but it's the silence, as they pull off, the apparent lack of soul. It's not natural. Very weird.  :confused1:
