Friday, went to Tenbury Wells, heading for Shobden but main road closed, at the bridge.  :cheesy:

Diverted through Kimbolton, so went to Leominster. Road closed. Had to go the long way around

onto A44 and ended up, at the Route44 cafe, at Kington.  :smitten:

Came back through Shobden, Wigmore, Leintwardine, Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth and finally, tea at Poolhall, before home.  :onya:  :smitten:

Awesome ride on the Bavarian Mistress today, left at 7AM saw 2.5degC on the dash plus the snowflake warning, first time for that, but no ice on Perth roads.

First time this season to run the heated grips, so nice and toasty.  We did over 300km with the BMW club, bike ran faultlessly after i had checked valve clearances and fitted a new timing chain.

Only issue atm is the battery, it wouldn't fire up after a refuel at 07:30, luckily I brought the jump starter with me. After the 4h run until lunch, battery seemed charged well enough, as it started well after that.

Got comments from my ride mates how quiet the bike was, I found it less rattly than before, but they still sound like a box of rocks at the best of times. Vibration through the bars is still normal, might adjust the balance shafts again....

Fuel economy stable at 5.2l/100km (indicated), acceleration same as always (i.e. freakin awesome)  No oil leaks whatsoever, coolant temp only got to halfway as it idled away at one of our rest stops, otherwise 1.5 as always.

Fantastic day of riding, outside temp got to a balmy 17deg C. Sunshine and great winding roads with 11 others, none too slow, except for 1 mate who was still running in his new Kwaka.  We had a white K1300S along with us, in very nice fettle. Had a chat  with the owner, hes only had it a few weeks, but looks decently sorted.  I sat behind him for a bit, it has a remus hexacone, sounded great, popping on the clutched down shifts and barking nicely on the QS upshifts.  I don't think he's explored the full potential of that bike, (his other is a K1600GT), even though we had some very decent empty country roads on  which to try...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Felt like summer, definitely not winter. A beautiful autumn day
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

About a week from the start of Winter here.

A low of 14 C, a high of 20 C here today.

Have seen a few light showers that have been welcome.

It must be cold, I put the liner back in my jacket.

Those lows would be welcome, but not your highs.  Thought about putting my liner back in as well, but then I have trouble getting into it with the liner in, so it's still out & the bike is in the garage not being used much atm.

Its why I bought my winter touring jacket 2XL, so that with liner in I can still get into it.

Eric mate, I wear an 8xl jacket as it is! I don't think they make 'em any bigger, I'd have to start shopping at the Hardly shop to find gear . . . :rofl2:

The sizing is all up the shite, my 2xl gloves were getting worn & a bit tight so thought I'd get some new ones, 3xl.  Nope FAR too small, went to 4xl, no way, they still too small. The 4xl nowadays are smaller than the 2xl's of years ago.  AND it was same brand & style. Brand was Dri Rider & style was speed 2.
For the jacket, went from a fairly tight fitting 4xl to an 8xl that's bugger all different. Pants the same, from a 3xl to a 7xl and hardly any different.  I know there's a lot of me, but 7xl & 8xl?  yeah nah, their sizings have changed.  Had very similar experience with boots, ended up sending them back and they were worse / tighter fitting than my current ones & they're beginning to feel like Chinese foot bindings. :whatever:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎
