28/02/2026 An afternoon on the Severn Valley Railway was followed by a brief stop in Bewdley:

11/03/2026 - A short ride to Bantock House, Wolverhampton was followed by a run through the lanes to the north and a visit to the remains of White Ladies Priory:

02/04/2026 - A longer run for a fair spring day as the GTR took me to a few sights in Monmouth including the town's medieval bridge, castle and The Kymin lookout on a nearby hill:

After a run out on the GSX to meet up with @BOA in Warwickshire, the GTR was selected for the next long run. A ride through the Cotswolds and into Oxfordsirebrough me to the magnificent Waddesdon Manor with a stop off at Brill Windmill on the return journey:

28/02/2026 An afternoon on the Severn Valley Railway was followed by a brief stop in Bewdley:

My first school was in the middle of those buildings.
My first home as a kid a short walk further on.
My parents still live nearby and own a couple of other houses in the area.

19/04/2026 - An opportunity for another short ride opened up an as usual I chose the Z1000 (never a comfortable bike for a long run, but bloody good fun up to 40 miles from home). If you ask people where the first English Parliament was held, most would probably guess at London, but in fact it was at the tiny hamlet of Acton Burnell in Shropshire, in a barn next to the castle. I'd visited the castle  before but had not been aware of the historical ruin of the barn. As it goes, there is little left of the barn and what remains is now within the grounds of a school or college, so inaccessible. It was nice to have another stroll around the castle though and I still enjoyed the ride.
