Has anyone had experience of a touring screen on the 14, I have a small screen but would like to cut down the buffering without it looking out of place.

seth

look at the pics of my bikes and the wifes
we have givi screens with 4 point mounting so very stable even at higher speeds.

Beware of bad design. I have tested and adjusted and tested two screens in my EX bike and one in my 14. I took them away, because they were giving too much turbulence and noise to the helmet. There may be good ones somewhere, I dont know. Two of those bad screens were made by Giwi. I think naked (bike) is better. I believe three to four inches over gauges may be the best??

Only tried a small one. Didn't like the look, never noticed much difference.

I've had 2 Hayabusa's with double bubble screen but now only have naked bikes.
I do some longish rides. 1200 miles on a weekend, Brisbane - Dubbo - Brisbane.

Its only at real silly speeds I miss the Busa fairing and screen.
At speeds in not going to go to jail I'm fine with a naked bike.
(although I do have a tall tank back on some rides)

Here's the one I tried.....

My logic is when I'm touring I'm enjoying the ride and the view, legal(ish) speeds.
Its when I'm chasing my idiot mates on Sportsbikes I'd like a little screen!

I had big screen - did not like the look. Now I have much smaller, and yes, there is a difference in wind protection, but will never a put big screen on my 14 again :)
The one I have now, is good enough. But this is my view.

My "screen" is just 2" high = those two 2" gauges. And that is enough to me. No more turbulence generators.

I like that wee kick at the top Seth. Wish mine was a bit more pronounced like that.

I have a big screen which I gave a run last winter.  (I use winter in the Queensland, Australia sense).

It was quite large and certainly made a difference -much less wind buffeting and therefore less wind chill on cold nights. Slightly more comfortable on long rides too.  Also offered some protection from driving rain.  (Yes I ride in the rain)

The cons:
- Didn't look right on a naked bike.
- Is an absolute pain to fit / remove - definitely wouldn't be bothering more than once a season.

I can't find any pics at the moment but had posted heaps... on the old org...

Will I fit it this year?  I doubt if, and if I don't I'll sell it.

Not really a touring screen on mine but makes a real difference - made by Givi but they no longer sell it.
MRA make a universal one with their top spoiler called the VTNB. Having used their replacement screens with the top spoiler on other bikes with great results I would be tempted to try one of those if I had to replace mine. Givi also have just introduced a nose cone type known as the A800N which I would take a look at before deciding as it seems similar to the one on my bike.

Looks better with the small screen.

Looks like a cockpit.

I had this one from Skidmarx - GSX1400 Cockpit Fairing

https://www.skidmarx.co.uk/suzuki/gsx-1400-gs-cockpit-fairing-kit.html?search_query=cockpit&results=56

available in a range of colours with various colour screens. Very solid and stable.

Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement
