So the swing arm has cleaned up reasonably well, but there are a few larger areas where the lacquer has worn away and corrosion has set in, is there a reasonable match for the silver in rattle cans so I can patch, or is it easier just to strip and polish the whole lot out?.

They're clear anodised from factory. Mine had some cloudy areas. I had it wet blasted and coated with Cerakote MC-5100. It mostly lost the "brushed alloy" look in the process but I actually prefer it this way since there's no other similar finish anywhere on the bike to be honest,

I also took the opportunity to weld on some paddock stand bobbin mounts.

Ah that was a previous 1400 mate.. had it professionally polished so hopefully it lasted well but I sold the bike soon after. Ironically I have contis on my current 14. Just the job for what i need but to be honest I'd be unlikely to put any brand of tyre under enough pressure to test them properly  :happy1:
