Wheel bearings..

Hi all, I've got a set of front and rear wheel bearings that I bought for my previous 14 getting on for 19 years ago.. by some miracle I've managed to drag them with me through various house moves, divorces etc 
My question is will they be still ok to use now I have a lovely K3 to play with?

If they're still wrapped & dry I can't see why not. The grease would have kept the moisture out, but I'd wash them & inspect them first just to make sure I didn't see rust anywhere.

One thing I forgot to say, the wheel bearings in most 14s out there are older than that after all.

I changed my wheel bearings at 100,000 kms and I only did it to give myself peace of mind because I couldn't believe they'd lasted so long. When we pulled them out they were like brand new anyway, however I replaced them so I will never have to do it again.

I have bearings for both ends, just never could fault originals. Carrier bearing, thats a must do, cant really remember, strange size but available. I think replacement is sealed both sides, original not. could be wrong

I did my wheel bearings at 130-135k miles, can't remember now. The fronts seemed fine but when I took them out they were stiff to turn compared to the new ones. Oddly I hadn't noticed it with them fitted but I figured as the backs had play I'd change them all.
Then a little while later I changed them all again, but that just proves why I'll never buy bearings sold as 'All Balls' again.

I've never cut corners on spending for critical parts I've always sourced either OEM or from the manufacturer whom supplied the OEM.

I was told it was a good make just 'badged', I learned better. I've gone back to my normal method of wandering down a local bearing shop & saying 'quality ones these size please', it seems to work.

yes, the original sprocket carrier is an open cage bearing. Get a new one from skf, nsk or timken that is a fully sealed one.

all balls is all bollocking, crap cheapy bearings.
