Am I the only one that honestly has no complains about the bike? I just came from an SFV650 - the bike is worlds apart in terms of comfort, brakes, raw acceleration. I love the seat - if you think this rolls you in to the tank.. the Gladdy seat is a legit plank that offers nearly 0 padding and pushes your balls directly in to the tank; I love the brakes - especially after I did the brake lines, they just work.. maybe one day I'll need to rebuild them.. but I'm ok with that.

No mate, you're not the only one by far.  GSXking & Grog to name a couple . . .
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

There's a lot to love about the bike. From the comfort, to the looks, to the torque, to being able to work on it, to the tank size and much more.

There are things I think could be better, but for a 25 year old bike they aren't relevant.  More importantly it's one of the bikes that never became overlooked because a manufacturer built a better version.

I 100% agree for the market and class it was aimed at it was by far the best choice.

I just wish they do a new version without ruining it.

Owned multitudes of bikes, most had something i hated that couldnt be changed. Vibration, scraping pegs, hard starting etc etc. 14 has crap seat, horrible bazooka on k7, poor headlight, bouncy forks.Ive fixed all those easily fixed things. Yeah, best no complaints bike ive owned. Easy maintenance once learnt/ understood. Looks still astound me, i still get asked is it new.Within its limits, which are really pretty high compared to older UJM, a bloody good ride.Incredible plus 50mpg, turn that throttle hard for 5 seconds, a rocket up its arse. Yeah, i like it👍

Agreed, nothing not to like, perhaps a few foibles, but nothing that can't be adjusted or tweaked.  Same as Grog, I often get asked whether its a new bike.  25years on still looks just so cool.  Love em.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Probably the wrong group to ask to be fair. Only slightly biased.

I've not managed to cover many km on mine due to injury, and it's had several non-standard parts thrown at it since I took ownership, but I'll echo all of the above.

It's possible I'm a little over the top on the detailing side of things but people are regularly blown away with it being 21 years old with 40000km on it and not a newish bike. After seeing Hooli's odometer reading recently it seems there's no reason it won't be with me for many years yet.

I wasn't ready for this style of bike/couldn't afford it and others I own (e.g. my 990 Adventure) when they were new and I was in mid twenties so I'm making up for it now.

I agree biased.. I meant to say, I literally have no grumbles about it at all. I started off with an old fairly neglected one, but it's an honest bike with a few quirks, but I like the seat, I like the brakes and it's worlds better than the bike I was on before it. It handles predictably and I've slightly modified it before I even rode it with the knowledge I have and what I want it to feel like. Big weights in the bars etc, lower rise wider bar, 55 rear tyre and it's honestly really top notch.

No complaints from me. Especially as I have changed a few things as I like them. Bought her (K2) used in 2017. First thing that needed changed back to original were the cleared out mufflers. No wonder that the PO requested on my test drive not to go above 5000 RPM. Soon went back to the very decent (for me) original handle bars. It is my second K2 (from new). The used one is alot better as I put hand on it myself instead of the dealership. It's a keeper for life. When she turned 18, we got married ;)

For me, I"d have a 14 again

Thankfully we all like different things, and I like a modded GSX1400

AGREED - I've got a 15metre push from the front of the yard to where I park it. I've taken to idling it up with some clutch work over the grass to get it there. It's a bugger to push and spin it on the stand.

1402 is a lightweight compared to the Bavarian Mistress, the K1300GT feels like a battleship if you have to push it around.  Had it on the bike lift last week, was risky getting it up there, then on the centre stand.  Getting it off the centre stand and then the lift needed 2 people. The 1402 is a cinch in comparison.  Would hate to try it with a GS or a K1600.  The bloke I bought the lift off used it once to service his Rocket III, which is heavier than the Beemer, but perhaps a bit more stable.

Getting them centred is a major.  Had my R3GT offset once & as the stand lifted it also tilted!!  Lower, centre it & try again, always very careful now. :happy1:

That's roughly what most people I know say about them too, just add effortless & easy to ride to the description. That & holding it up when stopped can be a concern if you've got a dodgy knee or owt.

14s are much easier to shove around than my Snotbox, which is the same weight but so bloody tall you feel like it's leaning on you all the time.

If you need an extra lift or security get a 500kg yellow thing and slings.
