Anyone here use or experience Caberg helmets? Look good, feel good, apparently quiet. Dot 5 safety. Any 1st hand with them? Thanks.

Hooli

I used to wear them about a decade ago, seemed ok for the money. Didn't feel quality like my Shoei though.

My problem was they don't fit my head, they were all a bit loose below ear level so quickly became wobbly when worn a lot. Felt ok new, but 3 months down the road I'd get neck ache as the lid wobbled constantly. Not really a helmet fault, it was just the fitting didn't work for me.

OK,no users except Hooli. My great old LS2 got same reception over 5 years ago. Safety reports good, i gave it a try. Was around $400 from Aus shop, I got direct Ali Express, cost $99 including tinted visor, bag and visor spray. Colour i chose wasnt available in Oz. Been a great helmet, tiny bit noisy but i wear ear plugs, no prob. Now, air vents have seized, over 5 yrs, a newie time. Either Nolan 100-5 or Caberg X, will test them tomorrow.

I have a Nolan N100-5  brought mine on line from The Netherlands, were none in NZ at that time.  Happy enough with it.  When going slow, like round town n stuff I open the chin bar & use it like an open face helmet, onto open roads with higher speeds & I close it back up.   I also use the sun visor all the time, especially when the helmet is in the open position.
Yeah I'd buy another one, or something similar to it.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Never heard of Caberg tbh.  Nolan are good, HJC and LSC seem good as well. A few guys in the BMW club have HJC, or Schuberth, both of which are on my short list.  Looking at a flip up this time.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Hooli

I'd rate the Cabergs I had about the same as the HJCs I've had. Similar price & quality but both had the same fitting issue for my shaped head.

My riding buddy has a Caberg and loves it, finding it quite a "quiet" helmet for wind noise. However when I tried a Caberg for size, it wasn't a good fit for my head, so after checking out a few other makes (Shuberth, Arai, I finally settled on a Shoei and have had 2 more Shoei helmets since.

Apart from supposedly being quieter than many other makes, I don't think there is anything that makes them stand out IMO.

To me, its betting the right fit - whatever make that may be.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Narrow under my ears is the best way I can describe it. Most helmets fit from the ears up, but if they aren't tight below that they come loose very soon & wobble like mad when riding.

Today tried on helmets at shop.Far away  best fit there is Neotec3.Another shop next week, different brands, will then decide.

Been told the Schuberth C5 is really quiet. Have tried one on but not ridden anywhere wearing one.  :salute:

I was interested in Shuberth but just nowhere to try one around here.

After a Recommendation I bought a S-beth - Quiet Frankly! Not worth the cost! I've use HJC for years and had a shoei but went back to HJC - value for money and quieter than the S-beth. Still have a number of HJCs now BUT! is is the shape of your nogging!
I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Saw a review for the Schuberth C5 from champion helmets yesterday. Rates second to the Shoei Neotech, with the HJC third. I'm looking at modular helmets this time.

Yeah Eric,i had another shop try today. HJC very good,a couple of models. Shuberth, wont buy if i cant try. I got really pissed off, colours not in my size HJC etc etc.I thought ill just buy another LS2, at least i know good.Went home thought about.I decided to fix top vents which were my main reason to change current hat.  Gave external polish, ipone interior clean, new visor fitted. Now a keeper until i save up for a Neotec. Sick of buggering around and talking to sales people.18 yr olds telling me what i need 😡
