Now I wait for some dry weather so I can go for a ride ... I'm not a wet weather rider unless it rains whilst out riding 🫤

Pleased to report the bike goes beautifully, smooth, revs cleanly and strong. Another thing I have noticed it's not popping back through the exhaust like it was ...  :whatever:

Definitely happy with the filter mod and external filter.   :thankyou:  :1400spray:

Micky,👍I reckon they rev better with mod done, others say no. Anyway works for me, full revs, full power all rev range.

Talking with my son today who's smarter than me in all things motorbikes, his explanation on why the bike exhaust isn't popping back as much on deceleration is because it's not running as lean ...

I've no idea but it makes some sense if the engine wasn't getting the correct fuel pressure .. :whatever:

Another ride tomorrow..  :clapping:

Micky, youve sorted fuel problem. Get your Son to do all other adjustments now. Cable free play, tps etc. Youll be amazed how good they come up. I thought mine was good, took a Suzuki demo new bike for a ride, i then thought mine was amazing comparing. Smoother, no snatch, just better. IMO

Grog, Another ride yesterday smooth, accelerates strong, no jerk or hesitation so I think the TPS is ok,  cables appear to be fine, no slackness to be felt.  My son has already replaced the brake and clutch lines with the HEL braided lines and fresh fluids. On the to do list will be service the callipers and new pads, and service the front forks. But the way it's going and handling right now I'm very happy.

I'd be struggling to find a demo new GSX1400 ..  :rofl3:

I've stripped and cleaned the fuelpump ever year on all our bikes since 2002 over several 100k and 7 bikes and not had a problem yet
Hopefully many more of the same .
only a slightly modified gsx1400

thought popping on overrun is a sign of rich running (unburnt fuel exploding in the muffler) not lean running...glad yours is running sweet MickyJB
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

G'day mates, just a quick one.. fuel tank is clean etc inside.. 0 rust and crud, EXCEPT for the tank cap, it's covered in a weird milky film (dried) I'm wondering.. is it best to remove and clean it up.. or just get a new keyless after market one?

Eric GSX1400K3

Mines the same, alloy corrosion from water condensate in the tank. Hasn't given me any issues
