Quote from: KiwiCol on Saturday, 04 October  2025, 09:35 AMYep, if she's been sat for a while with low fuel, the sender can pack a sad & read incorrectly (ask me how I know . . .) I took my sender out & put it through an ultrasonic clean, (dried it off) & she works 100% again. It came up like new.

Col, thanks for the information, I do suspect the sender needs a bit of fettling!

Hooli

Did you notice how much you put in to fill her up? that'll tell you if the sender is lying or not. Although it does sound a likely issue.

Just another 80km each way trip over to Cambridge to check on the elderly.
The Kaimai Range has had plenty of rain lately, today it was warm and dry with bugger all traffic and a clean road so enjoyed the shuffle up the hill.
Love that torque  :smitten:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Yesterday we're heading for breakfast in Kyogle but due to the heat we diverted to "The Shed" just outside Rathdowney, this place has fairdinkum wholesome food cooked on the premises by a passionate chef/cook she calls herself.
Tasty delicious and filling are a few of the words that springs to mind.
We were having a wonderful day out.

On the way home my 2015 BMW RT clocked up 200,000KMS.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Yesterday saw the first proper run on the GSX since I replaced the plugs and air filter; all seems well.

I fancied a run around the Peak District, but as ever the West Midlands conurbation stood in my way. As I often do, I just used the motorway up to Stafford – it's the first hour of the ride spoiled, but better than urban riding.

Once up into the Staffordshire moorlands I started to enjoy myself and the sun even showed its face. I had a run along the Cat & Fiddle Pass and then dropped down into the Goyt Valley before pointing the front wheel south again. Probably around 170 miles all in and always a pleasure to be on the GSX.

Thankfully we all like different things, and I like a modded GSX1400

No great adventure but roads that kept me varying my speed, revs and gears without being held at a constant highway pace.

110K / 68 miles round trip of half bitumen - half gravel roads to get my morning coffee.

The bike's too tall, too slow, too loud and too uncomfortable....

I love it !

Got a knee down on it yet Tony?   :stir:  :whistling:

needs his toes to touch the ground first...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I have a feeling that getting my knee down will be closely followed by my elbow, hands, head, handlebars, mirrors and various other extremities! I'm sure it'll happen one day.

At the moment riding is OK, but I'm working hard at trying to not look like a 17 year old on his first bike when I park up... 🤣.
(Pretty much like me on any bike)

As I mentioned somewhere, I've been thinking about getting another dirt bike.  Had them years ago, had so much fun on them. But, I'm sooo much older now, more unfit and waaay heavier.  The thought & the inclination is there, but then I sorta come back to reality, I aint gonna bounce like I used to and on those things, off road, you're gonna come off for certain. Think I should just stick to the memories & use the quad if I wanna go off roading. Seeing you guys on here with them fed the fire I guess, ya lucky buggers!

Sounds like you need a dirtbike to help you work on fitness and weight loss?

I haven't actually been back on any of my bikes since having a decent off back at the start of April. I should be done with physio in a couple of weeks and plan to go for a quick lap to celebrate. It remains to be seen how 3 months off work, a few weeks in a cervical collar 24/7, 3 x fused vertebrae, a plate with 12 x screws in my wrist, a few other minor fractures and the loss of my thoroughly kitted out Husqvarna 701 impact my riding habits...

see what I'm missing out on . . .
