Great day out on the scoota. Cloudless day 8° so headed off with the bride to do our Te Aroha loop.
Left home about 10am, over the Kaimai Range, along the Old Te Aroha Road to you guessed it Te Aroha. From there to Paeroa for lunch at The Refinery (old gold bullion refinery built in 1914) a busy café with good food and coffee. Had look through a couple of antique shops and around some back streets, people here are moving out from the central cities to some of the older rural towns, good buying to be had along with bigger sections.
Heading home we went through the Karangahake Gorge, plenty of water about, I should have stopped and taken a photo... but I didnt. Through Katikati past Omokoroa and home 195kms later by 3.00pm.
Lit the fire looks like it could be 0° tonight. Quite a few bikes out enjoying the fine weather. Great way to spend Sunday.

  Wifey gets cold hands and I never stop hearing about how it's ok for me with my poncy heated handlebars !!
Probably time to get her some heated gloves.... to go with her poncy heated vest !!

Bobbie swears by her Macna battery powered heated gloves.
She claims she doesn't get cold whilst sitting behind me on the arms or body.  I'm a bit of a windjammer for her 👀

Fair point Hooli. She does have a heated sweatshirt but says it's bulky under her jacket. I'm not brave enough to mention that maybe her jacket shrunk ??
Thanks for the link Chris I think they would be a great idea. I like that Macna gear, same as her jacket....that shrunk !

I just know I've found since I've got a poncy heated jacket that my hands stay warmer cause my arms aren't cold.

Over lots of the south downs, many of them single track slightly gravely, some A roads and many caravans, no speed above 50 mph as following a friend running in his Triumph 660 adventure

Making regular visits to Cambridge to see Dad. Today I got off State Highway 1 taking a back road along Lake Karapiro into the back of Cambridge. It's 3kms longer, the scenery is great the road is winding and the surface first class.
Happy ride
