Opinion required. Have had external fuel filter around 8 years, never a problem. Now one of its o rings about buggered. I bought the chinese in tank as o ring seems unavailable for my filter. My question, would you trust cheap intank or just get another external? If i get another external ill cut up the chinese to do a report on it.

I've had my external for a few years now, no issues from that, filter works well. Found that with the bypass, still get black crud from old hp filter coming out, so from that perspective a new in tank would be the go, but the convenience of the external is hard to beat.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

The original OEM filter did approx 60000 km before I replaced it with a cheap one which has done around 5000 km , personally not a big fan of more external fuel fittings, if I have to take the tank apart every 5 or 6 years I'm ok with that , the longevity of the cheap filter? is the gamble at this stage

I've been considering grabbing one of these rather than a cheap Chinese one. No idea if they're any different/better though?

please explain pictures about external filter

Basically you bypass the OEM in tank filter and put a filter between the outlet and injector rail ( external from the tank) ,search external fuel filter and the info will come up.

I have doubts that this one is any different except for the price. I think it is likely manufactured in the same place as the cheap chinese.

I decided wasnt happy fitting chinese internal. Ordered another external filter, this one only 25mm diameter. Raceworks if anyone interested. Cleanable and new o rings available.

New filter arrived today. Is only 25mm diameter, fits down in cavity in front of air filter perfectly. Im a clamp short so finish off tomorrow.

Finished off today. Re routed my fuel hose, had made it with too much bend to pump. Other low pressure hose replaced under tank, used efi hose so will never break. OEM is pretty flimsy/ weak hose.Starts, runs fine, no leaks, happy results.

@grog, that clamp you're using, is it ok for EFI fuel hose pressures?  I thought those screw type were not suitable  :whatever: I've been looking for some clamps but only ever seem to find this style in small sizes.
